They could do too much allies with China. Things looks bad all around the world. Shit is boiling!
Turkey is a front line for US nuclear forces.

I don't think China is particularly interested in aggressive conflict with the US at this moment. Their economy relies on us... Russia on the other hand has been economically ailing for much of the last 8 years. I think this is mostly a locally initiated action, a lot of people in Turkey are pissed off about just about everything the Erodgan administration has been doing.
Russia does have an interest in creating tension between the US and Turkey to weaken that alliance though, so they will tread carefully but purposefully.

Tanks have opened fire near the Turkish parliament building, Reuters reports, following similar reports from NTV and local journalists about gunfire in Ankara and Istanbul.
Protesters have heard Erdogan’s call to take to the streets, though, and some are chanting “shoulder to shoulder against the coup”. Others have squared off with military forces who’ve closed bridges and streets. In one video, a policeman and military officer argue in a crowd in the street; in another, cars jammed in traffic honked horns in unison as people mill among them. In a third, a crowd sings and lifts up a huge Turkish flag.

It is not a uprising by the people but the military. China would very much go to war. Those in ?Charge in ?China could care less about us buying cheap junk.

I think it's a bad personal/karma move to ask unarmed and unorganized civilians to sacrifice themselves. Politically it can be supportive.

Hahah uhhh I don't think that's a very realistic prognosis...
They would lose almost 2 trillion in trade instantly upon war with the west.

Trust me they aren't actually that interested in following Russia's path. They -do- care about their economy.

Coup's in Turkey have a much different flavor than in the west as well - there have been about 6-7 military coups in Turkey since its inception. It's sort of tradition

Turkey has been in the wrong hands for a decent amount of time. Turkey should have been kicked out of NATO for there roles in Syria.

That's what I assume the military is stepping in to end.
They've taken positive action before to aid in the direction of the government... in 97' there was an islamist prime minister starting to fuck shit up that the military removed as well.
