I used to be a fan of WBS, but I just can't seem to find a brand anywhere that doesn't have cracked corn in it. As a result, slimy starches get released all throughout the jar post PC cycle and makes it easier for mold to grow.
I highly recommend using organic rye berries, it's the best grain out there. All grains are uniform in shape and size, they're easy to hydrate, and are full of nutrients to support fast mycelium growth.

.the price isn't too bad on rye ,32$ for 25LBS on OG) I'd like spending 5$ for that much better but I'll avoid anything with cracked corn and go rye if I can't find it.

The Pennington WBS with a cardinal on a clear package has no corn but does have vitiamans and something else added. What would the fungicides be on the ingredients ?

Awesome. I'll go back over the ingredients but I think it's just vitamins and nothing bad. After looking at my budget and the prices I think we will find out around the same time

Additives to clear package penningtons WBS with Cardinal
potassium iodide: not sure what it's doing but it's naturally in kelp, kelp isn't killing my Mycorrhizae( maybe someone knows about this)
calcium carbonate: my understanding is this would be in many things used to grow mushrooms like any shells (again maybe someone better informed knows)
Vit D-3: shouldn't hurt maybe in horse poo anyway ((?))
Vit A : should be in lots of stuff used (?))
Vegetable oil: will rinse off ?

yeah, im pretty sure that is the same exact stuff, just in a bigger bag, that isnt clear. it looked the exact same on the pic, just my bag seems to have a little less sunflower seeds. which is prolly not a bad thing =p

If you have Kroger super markets, the Kroger brand WBS is stellar!
