WHY SO SMALL?????????

hey guys ive been growing mushrooms for a while now, so this isnt my first time or anything, let me explain....
had a bunch of wbs jars ready to spawn, smelled a little on the sour side so i threw everything out and started fresh.
i found a plate i had taken a clone of so i did one transfer and to my surprise it was actually decent, so i prepped a few more wbs and dropped an agar chunk and started a master jar....
once colonized i did a g2g transfer to 4 jars once those colonized i prepped a tub with some substrate i got from shroom supply, i followed franks teks on how to get shit done and this is wat im left with, i incubated the tub for one week.

4 days later we have this....

at first i was really excited thinking this was going to be my biggest grow yet, but the mushies arent getting any bigger and some are already to be picked....
i dnt get it, i mist n fan 5xs a day, humiditys high and the highest the temps have gotten is 82, but they saty around 79-80
can someone chime in on this i was expecting an ounce at least now im doubtful...
did i let the tub colonize too long?? are there too many mushrooms on the surface???
someone please chime in

-Genetics
-Moisture available (mine comes from the bulk substrate with no misting, since my relative humidity is 70%)
-Fresh air
these factors will get you bigger shrooms
edit. and a 2nd flush https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23444028#23444028

It's not over for you....your substrate looks healthy, you should expect a second flush and hopefully it will ball out for you. Good luck,

Try monotubs. 10 bucks says it'll be way different. SGFC is harder to do with trays. Trays need to be elevated for proper humidity and airflow, also it's hard to mist the entire perlite surface with big trays on it.
You can even try growing the trays in monotubs.

thanks for the feedback guys, MAD SEASON- ive tried the sgfc i couldnt dial it in so i went with the mono style, its a 66qt tub with 4 2 inch holes stuffed with poly....
MYCO217- thanks man first time the sub looked this healthy which is why i was expecting it to be a good run, i dnt know much about sub strains n agar n all that but wat i seen on my plates looked good to me, didnt know about sectors i just cut the best piece n went from there.
UNCLE RICO- ya man the genetics could be a facto but ive grown this type before and i believe this is the same jar of lc used as last time and last time i had fruits like this,

is there anything i can do atm to help these guys along?? a few look ready to me just so small

4 2inch holes? I got 8 1.5 inch holes lol, and only the bottom ones get stuffed.
Generally it's 4 holes on the bottom and 2 on top.
Honestly those mushrooms look very healthy to me. They do have a characteristic of too much humidity/moisture at one point though. Pumpkin caps is what I like calling them. Not too extreme though. It is also possible there's a contamination like bacteria present. Also could explain a diminished pinset.

If the LC was made with ms it will be different genetics everytime. Trays in a mono are not going to dial in as easy as a mono full of sub. You have less bulk trying to provide the humidity meaning the sub depletes it's water supply faster. 2" holes are pretty big for a standard monotub, so with even less sub present by using a tray you are going to burn through the water reserves even faster.

here's an idea for the op to get more wicking surface from the sgfc. (of course the fc is elevated to allow airflow underneath). you can also make the 'pvc shelf' work with your trays so no grid is needed. grids are for cakes
but, monotubs sure are easy
edit. hey Dr. Whyte, I don't know if you're a 'cube is a cube' guy ... but you are correct that MS will give a lot of variation. here is the 1st flush (MS)
MS variability noted .. Orissa india have been known for years to produce some big guys. and not just because they are grown on big piles of elephant dung! .. food for thought ... wait .. yeck

i followed this tek https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17325780/fpart/all/vc/1
and the how to spawn and how to dial in ur monos like a boss... granted that one is just sub no tray but i didnt have enough sub to do a full 66qt tub
its obvious i cant dial in a tub, ive bought 6 only to mess up the holes over n over, my first tubs was a sgfc and followed RR's teks to a T. then was told there wasnt enough holes so i tried 3 others and finally just gave up n went with franks mono tub idea.
so wat do i do, i want to use the tub without a tray just not enough sub, thats why i went this route.. i just wanna dial in 1 tub so i can replicate n run several tubs....

so going with my tray idea, wats the best way to do it, mono or sgfc?
i like ur setup in ur first reply mad season, id like to go that route
i right now have 2 66qt tubs with 2 holes at the top by the handles
and 2 on each bottom about 4 inches up on both the long sides if that makes sense, i can throw up more pics if needed, i just got another tub going and if this one isnt acting right neither will the other, so id like to dial this in

Just make more spawn and sub for next time to fill up the tub
Hey rico I'm not really in the camp of cubes are cubes, but I'm not out of it either. Kinda like not all black guys are built like Shaq cause Gary Colman, however I have noticed that most of the guys in the NBA are black so. . .

correction theres 6 holes all together, tight poly on the bottom loose on the top.
ya man i had sub made up and was going to use it just let it sit n didnt wanna risk it so i ordered from shroomery in a pinch, so nothings really wrong here other than i just need to fruit in the tub without a tray???

People can do it with trays. But they usually make their holes smaller to compensate for the lower humidity that the smaller sub is capable of producing as well. You might just find you need to mist more or supply extra water. Dialing in is a process that is perfected over time.

ok guys so this is the same tub as before, shrooms never got any taller than the last pic so i picked all the decent sized ones and was looking to get some feedback as to wat to do next......
im over this tub, id like to move on to the second flush but how do i go about removing all these pins that are left that wont get any bigger??
do i rake it with a fork n wait or wat? any help would be appreciated

also how do i go about disposing of these spent tubs? i live in a spot that my landlord comes around weekly and i cant be buring it outside or in a compost pile, and my garbage man left a contamination note on my trash can last week cause i threw a contruction bag full of spent cakes in their last week, wats the best way to get rid of the spent cakes???

You pick them, nice and easily one at a time whilst not hurting the substrate too much.
You can fill your tub/substrate with water, destroy the sub with a drill or whatever, make it into sort of a slurry, and flush it out your toilet

Nice fruits, yield on that tub is lacking though. Should have gotten like.. 4x that amount and still had room to improve. Could be hidden bacteria or just genetics. Gotta keep searching.

Great job, friend. Glad you stuck with that substrate and saw it through to a decent enough fruiting! Take all you learned and read a bit more and you will get your yield up!
