Over cooking?

Hi,
Apparently my new PC has an automatic keep warm setting. I set the time and left it, expecting the jars to be cooled upon my return. However, they were kept warm for about 4.5 hours. During this time, the pressure had been completely released, as per the appliances natural operation. I opened the lid and the jars were certainly warm, but I could easily touch and lift them with my bare hands - no oven mits required...
Does this sound like its alright to procede or should I start over? Does this kill the nutrients?

It's exactly what you want. Let them cool to room temperature.

4.5 hours after PCing I would certainly expect there to be no pressure and the jars be fairly warm (especially towards the middle of the jars). I personally PC a few hours before bed and let them cool overnight while I sleep.
Everything sounds normal to me.

Also, does it matter if the PC lid is on or off during this cooling phase?
Lid is on, at the moment...
My hypothesis, if anyone is interested in the development of a rookie trying to learn the game, is that keeping the lid on better preserves the sterilization, though it may not make a huge difference either way, because the foil acts as a shield....

I think MOST of us leave the lid on while it cools. Mainly because it just doesn't make much sense to take it off until you are ready to work with whatever you sterilized and you are positive it has had enough time to cool. The lid definitely offers some protection while it cools.

I left it on. Jars may have been a couple of degrees above room temp...maybe not, hard to tell. If I wasnt specifically looking for warmth I likely wouldnt have noticed anything at all. Kinda reminded me of how something left inside a closed container all day might be slightly warmer than, say, the counter.
Anyway, knocked up a few jars a few minutes ago. Played it much more carefully this time, had better squirt control, flamed the needle, gave them a better incubation location...etc...time will tell.
I appreciate everyones help, many thanks to all
Sweet dreams, good night Shroomery
