preparing for second flush

I'm currently using a SGFC to grow a large cake of golden teacher. Two days ago the cake exploded with over 200 mushrooms. This is my first time growing and I have no idea how to prepare Second flush. I understand the dunk and roll but am I to harvest all visible mushrooms, including pins, before dunk?-28/860147035-thumb_20160715_054953.jpg[/image][/url]

if that is the way your cake looks now, don't do anything, just let it keep going, your "2nd flush" is already underway.

set it in a pool of water in your sgfc. like some sort of saucer or other improvised device. let it soak up the water. remove once it stops soaking up the h2o

Do u think all those mushrooms will fully mature. I was honestly only expecting a few shrooms lol. I'm gonna need more containers for drying.

start now.
and i hope you arent trying to dry with desiccant chambers.. if so, you might as well jsut throw all those shrooms in the trash.. get a cheap dehydrator for 20-30 bucks, or at the very least, use an oven with a fan pointing at the door.'
and yes they will mature, as long as you keep providing proper conditions.

they do.. and then they store those mushrooms and then they rot, because the dont get cracker dry.
go return the damprid, and buy a food dehydrator at walmart for $30. especially if you are going to continue growing at all.

If you hydrate that substrate properly and maintain your fresh air exchange then there is no reason why almost all of those won't mature. Of course you will have aborts....maybe a lot....but it will be negligible compared to the mature fruits! Welcome to the community!
Don't be afraid to just reach in and pick the mushrooms with your hands man...it isn't as dangerous as you think....it becomes a chore after a few grows...
As for drying, was-mart sells a dope dehydrator for 40$ usually in stock in most stores, but if you understand this about a dehydrator....it is just a vented vessel, a coil, and a fan. You can improvise very easily....

No luckily I have the money to do this right. I don't plan on this being a one time thing. I have 28 jars colonizing ad we speak. I will have a dehydrator by the end of tomorrow. I just thought the damprid would be effective.thabk you guys

thats good. its best to do things the right and proven way(at least for stuff like drying, especially). this way all the hard work wont go to waste. especially because if you follow the teks to the "t" and follow the TC's and other pro grower's advice from here, then youll have way more than you will ever know what to do with
good luck!

I see everyone saying Wall-Mart has dehydrators in these forums; which led me on a trip all around town a few weeks ago. Went by all the Wall-Marts and Targets in town and no dehydrators. Ended up hot, frustrated, and with a lot less gas. I ended up buying one through Amazon. I wouldn't recommend going to Wall-Mart to buy a dehydrator.

not sure what to tell you.. i have been to 2 local Walmarts and both had the Presto Dehydro, or whatever it's called. $30. it was in the kitchen appliances, near the caning supplies, coffee makers, pots and pans, etc. in both stores. and the walmart two towns south of me, had them in the same spot, and actually also had another brand.
but i guess it is gonna be different in every state/city. im in the south, so lots of people make deer jerky or something, i guess haha =p
but amazon is a safe bet, for sure.
