Mold or Mycelium?
    #23443499 - 07/15/16 10:07 AM (7 years, 6 months ago)

Greetings,

I am trying to identify if this is whipsy mycelium, or cobweb mold. I took a tissue sample from an older Ganoderma Tsugae, which is shown in the first three plates. The fourth plate seems to be healthy oyster mycelium. The plates were inoculated on July 9th.

It definitely had that grainy quality associated with ganoderma that I've seen many times. Looking good to me man.

If it was cobweb, about how long would it take for me to start seeing it become grey and produce spores?

Instantly. It comes grey, and takes over a whole dish in under 6 hours. Even less with decent GE spreading fragments all over it.
