:no: just prep the grains properly. Spread them out on newspaper and point a fan on them if it's too wet.

You can fold in strips of paper towels too,  if you are in a huge hurry.  Just be dainty and not crush the grains. Then remove when saturated.  Then load jars.


I have used a touch of vermiculite at the end, but best practice is for straight grain.


I have used pelleted straw and it sucks bigtime!
