yeah well said. I can't even IMAGINE having a kid in my 20s.. that would have fucking sucked. I was pretty irresponsible and just LIVING MAH LIFE and traveling/partying etc. That got old though... by my late 20s I was pretty much over the whole party/club/fest/vagabond scene and wanted some stability in my life. Stability came.. then the baby came shortly after. I think it was pretty much the best time to have a kid for us.. although you are NEVER fully prepared.. at 32.. not too young.. not too old.. I was relatively in the right place, mentally, emotionally and financially.. and much wiser and more mature. Would have killed me if I had a kid at 20.

Personally I grew up around a dad who was an alcoholic with a lot of friends and family. I started drinking young and had been to enough parties, participating or not, by the time I decided I wanted to try for a kid. All that partying and travelling isn't for me. Not that I don't donpsychedelics every now and then still, but if it's with anyone it's with the wife and she's only tripped with me maybe 5-6 times in 5 years.
Personally I like the idea of being a younger parent because it opens up more opportunity for me to enjoy years that a lot of people who wait to have kids, don't. Atleast not in the sense of what a life is like without having dependants. I'll be young enough to travel with my kids, or whatever. If they want to do shrooms I won't be so old that I'm just gonna drop dead from a heart condition or something. I was 22 when I had my son and it's worked out fine for me. I couldn't imagine being close to or in my 40's and having a kid like a lot of people do.. it's so much work, even for a guy my age. Basically what I'm saying is if I didn't have kids I'd be bored, at home playing video games or doing drugs.

Babies literally creep me out. I cannot stand being near them. Toddlers are worse. .getting their nasty hands on everything.
After that. .they're not too bad..but i don't want to be responsible for one. Feck that.
Husband is getting a vasectomy soon as we've saved for it. I'm not taking any chances.

Re shroomism: That's exactly how I imagine the next 20 years going (I'm 22 atm). Have a 10 year old by age 40 or so isn't bad at all.
But yeah my girl and I are both very very against babies atm. You most certainly cannot take a baby to a metal show or raving. We both agree by age 30 or so (we are the same age) we will definitely want kids . Basically after all the fun like you explained. Traveling and experiencing until that gets old and then it's family time. I love family so much so I'm sure I'm going to be a great dad one day. Until then I have about 10 nieces and nephews
One of the very first told me when we started dating was she's on birth control and I just happen to really need that kind of girlfriend. Now that I know her better i love tons of things about her but that's a big issue for me because I just don't think it's right to ask a woman to get birth control if she doesn't already have it.

I guess it's different for everyone, but I seriously couldn't see myself having kids in my 20s.. no way I could have handled one. My mom had me when she was 19. Ha.

Do you think having say a 10 y/o at age 40 Is reasonably "not old" ?
(I also had older parents then everyone else but I had a different experience)
