Hello Again [salvia d]

Again, because years ago I started this account and posted very little. I read a lot and this forum has been very helpful, so thank you all for being here. I have been growing salvia divinorum successfully for a few years. started with a plant and were times when i had 6-7 plants. Lately I had lots of problems with my plants especially outside. seems like some bug likes to eat it so much that poor thing gets stunned after a while and doesn't even grow anymore so I moved all my salvia plants inside. ( in the pictures you can see some of my plants) They seem to be doing much better inside. I am trying to grow it more efficiently especially since I a had lot of success lately with making a tincture. I was always interested in the quid/chewing/tincture method as smoking to me doesn't seem to leave enough room for any kind of work to be done.Anyway I am interested if anyone here knows any tips and tricks for growing it indoors. Right now I have them under some cfl lights and some led lights and seems to be doing very good but I am interested in any additional info that would increase my yield so I can make tons of tincture which in my opinion is awesome!!! anyway I am back using this account and please ignore my username I was in my Egyptian period at the time and gee it's 10 bucks to change your username so I guess I won't... at least for now.

They look quite healthy, the only thing I would mention is that they appear to be stretching for light. Could move it a little closer if you wanted.
Looks good though. Care to share you tincture recipe and experiences on it? I would be quite curious to know. I've got a ton of dry leaf sitting around....

yes definitely. I am not sure but I think it might be against the board rules here to post recipes and dosages. If so I could make a post about it in the psychedelic experience board. Honestly I am in love with the tincture a lot since I had success in making it I can;t believe I waited so long to actually try and make it. I find the sublingual method to be just wonderful and honestly I never had any success in using the quid method and tincture is so much easier. Yes my plants in that area are stretching a bit. that set up is just temporary. I need to find the time to set up a few more lights and make more room for them. thanks for the reply

I just checked it out. Thank you. I'm definitely making a tincture once I have a few grams of leaf laying around.

yes, I say is definitely worth a try. For me this is like the holly grail. I always like salvia since I smoke my first 5x years ago and don't get me wrong the smoked experience is, well it is what it is , what I mean is that I am not trying to downplay the smoked experience. I guess if we were to draw a comparison would be the difference between smoked dmt and ayahuasca. Anyway if you have any questions you can hit me up over there... cheers

hey yeah. I've read a lot about buccal salvia but I just haven't tried it yet. It's the main reason why I started cultivating my own plants.
I've smoked leaf and 10x extracts a few times and while it's pretty amazing it doesn't last nearly long enough to gain anything from it as you say, and it seems buccal salvia has a lot note to offer and is the preferred way ancient cultures have used this plant. Some cultures even say it's disrespectful for the plant to be smoked.
Have you ever thought about dropping your tincture onto blotter paper, letting the alcohol evaporate and the dose be left on the blotter paper? It's an idea I'm going to try I think to avoid the alcohol causing Burns in my mouth, although diluting it with water like you do would probably be easiest.

I thought about it but I have never tried it. I don't even know IF it can be done successfully, I mean the amount of salvinorin A that the alcohol can absorb is limited. you would have to soak evaporate soak evaporate many times over to be able to fit that much active ingredient on the paper plus purify it since the amount of other inactive ingredients in the alcohol is huge it won;t fit on the paper this is just my guess I never really looked into it. The other option would be to make a different extraction using something like acetone and purify the extraction but again from what I read Salvinorin A absorbs much much worse orally when in the pure form, seems that whatever tannins and other inactive ingredients are being infused in the tincture help a lot with absorption... Again this is not personal experience but things I read about it.
The burn is not that bad when mixed with water. small price to pay but if someone comes out with a Salvia blotter would be awesome!!!

I miss growing some Salvia. It was a bitch to keep bugs and other nasty things away from it, but it's a very rewarding plant to grow. I always enjoyed doing quids from homegrown leaves.

Right??? There is one particular bug. must come at night. i can;t find the damn thing if my life depended on it. it eats so much of it.. ... that's why I moved my plants inside. since then no problems...

I think you need to do acetone washes to do this. Check out the tek by RedGreenVines for this. Him and another guy got a solid method down. They normally smoke it, but he said he has tried sublingual and it definitely works. He drips the extract on cigarette papers.

Yeah I've read about it a bit was just curious if you had any experience with it. I think I'll try that tek one day.

d0urd3en is right, you can try with acetone there are some good teks. I personally never tried because it's so easy to make a tincture and I have absolutely no need for the pure compound...
