Severe COUGH after cultivating mushrooms

We grew our own mushrooms and afterwards (when they were fruiting) I started coughing. Its now been 4 weeks, and I cough constantly. Ive been to the Dr. and nothing they give me helps it. Tried acupuncture and all sorts of natural remedies and nothing is helping. Im almost positive its from breathing in the spores, because I wasn't coughing before. Has anyone else experienced this, and how did you find relief? Thanks.

If we're talking about cubes here, there could not possibly have been enough spores to give you lung issues. If you're growing oysters then yeah you probably do have a fuckload of spores in your lungs. If we're talking about cubes though, then you're just sick and drawing conclusions.

It's reasonably common for people to experience respiratory problems after cultivating mushrooms and being exposed to large spore loads during fruiting. Especially a problem with oyster species. I tend not to cultivate oysters for this reason. I get runny nose, eyes, cough etc. People vary in their susceptibility to spores, but often allergies develop in after prolonged exposure to spores. I'd say at the least you should be wearing a respirator when cropping out oysters. Or avoid them entirely and go with a species with a lower spore load. Sounds like you may want to go back to the doc, hope you get better soon!

If you're growing a few ounces of psychedelics in a few tubs don't even consider it, unless you're letting your projects over mature, press your nose into the box and inhale deeply for hours ..... I'd say you just have a cough. Drink tea with lemon ginger and honey several times a day.
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night

No way is it cube related, I have gotten "pickers lung" from oysters, and still do even with a mask, but that is an oyster thing and a lot of people are just plain allergic to them. With cubes I have never heard of an allergy to them, nor heard any stories about people getting sick from them, and we know how many people grow cubes in their bedroom.
