Some good reasons to live. 1

It seems like I always end up falling back in deep depression. So now I searched the web and found basicly nothing worthwhile that seems like a good reason. So what are some good reasons to live?
What is life all about? For what reasons do people wake up in the morning and go to their jobs only to basicly push death aside for a while?
This reality is based upon some kind of constant loop, like a bad acid trip.
For some odd reason life just seems like a big problem full of smaller problems that constantly need fixing, and when you do than what? You are born, go to school, get a job, move out, than what? Just get in a joyless routine? Even finding a hobby becomes just another drag after some time.
What are your options if you just go through life pushing yourself to do stuff you don't even know why you're doing them while at the same time nobody really cares for you instead just interacts with you if they need something or expect something from you?
I'm not really suicidal even, just confused with why all this is happening. Couldn't even get some answer from psychedelics either, even drugs bore me nowadays.

Get a dog

The dog will love you unconditionally just for being you

The dog will reach out to you when you are depressed

The dog will show you how to relax and that life doesn't have to be hard

Or it'll use you for food. In which case you learn you have to stay alive to feed it anyways.

Sometimes people will ask you why you are angry or down, why you are depressed or sad. And it's often difficult to come up with a solid answer before getting stuck in a loop. Some people delude the answer, and list off a bunch of shit that shouldn't have so much weight in their lives, but these are not at the core of their anger/boredom/depression. These are just things that are negatively catapulted by it, and that create anxiety or dissonance as a result of depression rather than as a cause.
I was pretty depressed for years until I changed my lifestyle up. The question shouldn't be, "What is a good reason to live?", but more along the lines of, "What can I do to make life worth living?". Exercise was a huge factor in my happiness, as well as moderate sobriety. Using psychedelics and alcohol sparsely, a few times a year, has made the experiences much better, more valuable. Running 4-5 times a week has helped my health tremendously and had huge effects on my mood.
I joined the Army about a year and half ago, and that too brought an unexpected kind of happiness. Not something I'd recommend for everyone by any means, but the core idea should be that a massive change in overall lifestyle can bring positive benefits. Working (and accomplishing) goals you set for yourself brings purpose, even if the goals are relatively small.
Some people have a natural depression that goes much deeper than others. I'm not one of those people, but for a long time I thought I was. Perpetually stuck in the cycles of depression and over consumption. The last (almost) two years have been some of my most positive and happy two years in life, even predating my childhood. I'd say diet and exercise did it for me. If you're already active, there is other stuff that you can change though.
Going back to the reasons. Sometimes we focus too much on inane shit when it comes to why we are depressed. "Shit just doesn't go my way", "This line is too long", "My job sucks". All things that are passive and have little to do with overall happiness. If they are contributors to depression, they can be changed (for most people). A lot of it is attitude, and more importantly - diet and physical health. Sleep, drink water, eat fruits and vegetables. You know? Your circumstances wont change because you get in better physical and mental health, your perceptive of them does. Something that could cause debilitating anxiety one year might cause joy and happiness the next year.
If anything, it's worth living to see those positive days fulfill themselves.

If you're asking that question, you just haven't found what makes YOUR life worth living. You have to take action to change your lifestyle. I've had pretty bad manic depression on and off my whole life, both when I was addicted and totally sober. I would go from considering suicide to being ok 10 minutes later. It was a big step for me to get on medication (lexapro+wellbutrin) but it helped give me the motivation to get off my ass and start finding some fulfillment. I've been through hell and back, if you think I can help feel free to PM me.

This is why it's important for people to find jobs that they actually like doing, that way you get paid to do something you love, and it doesn't feel like work. I was starting a seed business years ago, long story I am not getting into, anyway I would work from early morning, till late night, never felt like work, and I was constantly learning, I was very happy with that.
I often think we're not supposed to be the way we are nowadays, like we should be waking up, farming, hunting, and fixing our homestead, rather than getting rushed along the rat race of life.
Perhaps you should find new hobbies, ones that really catch your attention. It's never to late to start something new, and sometimes when we start something new, it can benefit our older hobbies as well, because after we do a new hobby for a while, we want to revisit the old ones again, and will find a new passion for them.
Music is one reason to live, I love music, and in the morning when I wake up, until I go to bed, am constantly surrounded by it. Gardening is another reason to live, to take care of something and watch it flourish is a wonderful feeling.

Sanguin3 said: I was depressed through most of high school even though I led a pretty good life on paper. Once I found psyches and had my first mushroom trip my outlook on life changed drastically. That night was the first time I felt truly happy in as long as I could remember, and it's when I realized that I was in control of my mood and not the other way around. It's hard to explain my change in mindset and I honestly can't even remember enough of the 'before' to understand it myself, but something changed.
After that I started focusing on my relationship with my future wife. We've been together 5 years now and although I don't always wake up happy I keep working and bettering myself and our lives for her. I can't speak for everyone of course, but in my life love is the most important and rewarding part of the human experience. If I had nothing else in this world, she would be enough.
This is a great story, but I wouldn't recommend using psychedelics if you're depressed, weed included.

For me, living life is about seeking out the next best thing. For example, that next awesome acid trip, that next awesom shroom trip, the next awesome dinner date with my GF, that next awesome purchase at a store of something you always wanted.
Striving to better your life is why i keep working at my job and returning to the routine everyday.
Some of my goals are: buying a quad to go 4 wheeling, take a vacation via airplane to a new place, go to Disneyland, buy a new car, upgrade my hobbies, start new hobbies, get a diamond ring for my GF, pay off my debt, etc etc....
You gotta have some clear goals to be happy. I read a quote recently: Happiness isnt a destination, its a byproduct. In other words, happiness comes as a byproduct of achieving your goals and dreams.
If u dont have any goals or dreams, then u need to change your life so u do have some.

Plants and music and two of my biggest joys in life, there is so much amazing nature out there in the world waiting for us to explore it.
You could spend a dozen lifetimes dedicated to travel and still just barely scratch the surface. Same with music in all its various forms.
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

Want to hear some good news?
Today,
A child had tasted ice cream for the first time.
Two people fell in love
A group of friends made life long memories
Someone spent time with a long-lost relative and reliving old memories
Someone helped someone who was in need
People hugged, kissed, cried tears of joy, and kept eachother company today.
Someone had the best sex they have ever had
A song was written that will make someones day or be alot of peoples favorite song
A mother sang her child to sleep
People worked together to solve a problem
There is some good news for ya seems like you may need some
That all seems like good reason to be alive dont you think?
