Panaeolus/Panaeolopsis

Found these growing in the lawn of a big government building in the middle of Philly. They were all growing together. Are panaeolopsis really a separate species? Or are they just mutated pan cints?
Sorry, the in situ shots were on my phone.

The bell shaped ones are a Panaeolopsis sp. https://www.shroomery.org/12480/Panaeolopsis-sp
There were Panaeolus foenisecii growing in the same area. The Panaeolus cinctulus pictured have darker gills (from black spores) and redder, more striated stems. I should have grabbed some of the foes, for a side by side shot.

I don't see any Panaeolus foenisecii in the pictures.
Panaeolopsis is really a Panaeolus. Whether they are the same as P. cinctulus is unknown. I could check the DNA if you want to send me a collection of each.

Way cooler than answering my question. Alan comes in and says "nobody knows, I'll help you figure it out."
Just tell me where to send them.

Hey Myceliups, good to see you on here.
Too many people send Alan too many mushrooms for sequencing. While he's too busy taking pretty pictures of mexican fungi. Last I asked, he hadn't gotten to it. He told me the chances of getting useful genetic info would be better with fresher specimens dried at lower temps. But I couldn't find any.

It's good to be seen here lol. Maybe we can find another sequencing source for cheap. We can grow it ourselves!!

I just added a sequence for https://mushroomobserver.org/252185:
GGTGGGTTGTTGCTGTCCCTCTCGGGGGAATTGTGCACACCTTACCTTTTTTGTTTTTCCACCTGTGCACACACTGTAGGTCTGAAGGAGGGGAAGGGGGGGGAAgTAACACTCTCCCCCTGAAACACTTTCaGGTCCTATGTATTTTACACATACACTATTAAAAGTAACAGAACGATTCAATGGGCTTCCAAGCCTATAAACTATATACAACTTTCAGCAACGGATCTCTTGGCTCTCGCATCGATGAAgAACGCAGCGAAATGCGATAAGTAATGTGAATTGCAgAATTCAGTGAATCATCGAATCTTTGAACGCACCTTGCGCTCGTTGGTATTCCGACGAGCATGCCTGTTTGAGTGTCATTAAATTCTCAACCTCAACACTTTTGTGATTGATGGCTTGGATGTGGAGGTTTTTCTGCAGGCTGTTAAAGTCTGCTCCTCTCAAATGAATTaGtGGGtGCCCCGCGCAAACCTATCTATTGGTGTGATAATTATCTACGCCgtGgATTATAgGATTGCTGtAAAAAGGTGTTTGCCCTGCTTCTAACCGTCCnCTyTGTTGGGACAACTTGAACCATTTGACCTCAaATCaaGTAGGACTACCCGCTGAACTTAAgCATATCAATAAGCGGAGGAAAAgAAACTAACaAGGATTCCCCTAgtAACTGCGAGTGAAGCGGGAAAAGCTCAAATTTAAAATCTGGCAgTCTTTGATTGT
The Panaeolopsis, https://mushroomobserver.org/251982 matches 100%:
GGTGGGTTGTTGCTGTCCCTCTcGGGGGAaTTGTGCACACCTTACCTTTTTTGTTTTTCCACCTGTGCACACACTGTAGGTCTGAAGGAGGGGAAGGGGGGGGAAGTAACACTCTCCCCCTGAAACACTTTCAGGTCCTATGTATTTTACACATACACTATTAAAAGTAACAGAACGATTCAATGGGCTTCCAAGCCTATAAACTATATACAACTTTCAGCAACGGATCTCTTGGCTCTCGCATCGATGAAGAACGCAGCGAAATGCGATAAGTAATGTGAATTGCAGAATTCAGTGAATCATCGAATCTTTGAACGCACCTTGCGCTCGTTGGTATTCCGACGAGCATGCCTGTTTGAGTGTCATTAAATTCTCAACCTCAACACTTTTGTGATTGATGGCTTGGATGTGGAGGTTTTTcTGCAGGCTGTTAAAGTCTGCTCCTCTCAAATGAATTAGTGGGTGCCCCGCGCAAACCTATCTATTGGTGTGATAATTATCTACGCCGTGGATTATAgGatTGCTGTAAAAAGGTGTTTGCCCTGCTTCTAACCGTCCCCTTTGTTGgGACAACTTGAACCATTTGACCTCAAATCAGGTAGGACTACCCGCTGAACTTAAGCATATCAATAAGCGGAgGAAAAGAAACTAACAagGAtTCCCCTAGTAACTGCGAGTGAAGCGGGAAAAGCTCAAATTTaAAATCTGGCAGTCTTTGATTGTCCGAgTtGtAATCTAgAGaAgCATTATCCGCGCTGGAC
Sometimes the cap doesn't open up all the way, but it's still the same species.
