G.H. nutes after flush
    #2344095 - 02/17/04 01:45 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I was wondering if anyone tried adding nutes to the casing after the flush, Im a newbie at shrooms but I can grow M.J. with hydroponics very well, but the shroom's will be a new chalenge and cant wait.

I was thinking that if the cake has no more nutrients from the shrooms then maybe a dunk in genearal hydroponics nutes would give it a nice 2,3,4th harvest, Has anyone tried this I did a serch but came up with nothing, I think Gh would be good cause you can use it for anything since its in 3 parts and you can custom blend your ferts.

Of course it could not be a strong mix I was thinking 200-300 ppm with a ph of 5.9 but I would like to know whats the main nutes shrooms like, Nitrogen? magnisium? phosphate? patasium? any help on this subject would be great.

thanks

One of the purposes of a casing layer is that it is a non-nutritious barrier to block out contams from a high nutrient area. Usually the limiting factor in a casing or cake isn't the nutes but water content. So a dunk would be beneficial but dunking in nutes is probably not all that helpful only a good vector for contams to join the party.

O.k. gotcha well if water was maintained what about injecting with a needle, a mild shot of nutes? that is if I could sterlize the nute mixture.

Nutes really aren't too sparse, you're not going to run out of them before contams kick in (maybe with BRF) but that's only my opinion. Give it a shot.

mushrooms are not plants, they will not make use of chelates.

I just shot a e-mail to General hydroponics to see if they have done any reserch on this subject shit if they can grow in a space shuttle im sure they can tell me if it has any benifits to a shit loving fungus, thanks for the input guys! I wonder if I could do a mixture of coco core fiber and vermaculite and perilite and wich would have no nutrients then add my own and see if the jar will colonize?
