I saw this. I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE! I would punch a four year old child square in the face right in front of his mom if they had the last one of these mini-NES systems at my local Wal-Mart.
Does this make me a horrible person? I don't think so, it's the greatest video game system ever.

So you would not punch a four year old child for your atari system that is similar in concept?
Idk man, I bet Nintendo has done it correctly with the mini-NES. The game list is awesome and worth hour upon hour upon hour of gameplay.
For $60 bucks getting me a mini-NES, I would rob a four year old child to get the $, lmfao jk. NINTENDO IS A COMPANY OF GENIUSES!

I would buy one if you could play cartridges on it. Better off getting a used wii for $40-50 and putting nes, snes and genesis emulators on there.

Is NES really terrible on modern CDs? With SNES you just get input delay and very occasionally really servere lag, but it works fine unless you're a world champion player like me.

Certain TVs for certain consoles is a pain in the ass. Its hard to get clear signal playing Nintendo games on anything but a TV from the 80's - 90's. There is some kinda of hardware or something these new TVs are missing.

Mostly this. When I had the NES emulators for my Wii, they kinda sucked. For certain games like Punchout, the ever-so-slight delay was a deal breaker. This is the allure of this thing. I don't know why they only put 30 games on it though, why not the entire library? I guess that will be the second release.

who needs a hard drive? NES roms are only a few kb each. You could probably fit the entire NES library onto a 1gb SD card.
Which is what they should have done. I'd have bought that for sure.

The only appeal this has to me is the reduced size.As far as the video quality is concerned, the original models can be modded to run on modern TVs.

I still have my old NES, but I'm gonna buy one of these so I don't have to diddle it for 30 minutes to get it going when I want to play it. $60 is not bad at all. They definitely should have included way more games, but I'm gonna buy one of those 500-in-1 cartridges to go with it.

You're right, it apparently can't take cartridges and is only styled to look like it does. I probably won't be buying this after all then. Pretty gay.

Yeah if it can't be updated, or add to the collection via expansion cards - I'd have to pass.
I wish they would of made an updated SNES over the NES.

The new NES console has very limited hardware. It wont be able to be modded. As for the cartridges, they will be new and improved. Which means you will have to rebuy the game if you already own it. Its not worth it. If you have a PC there is no use for it. They wont support old hardware which means no powerglove, no running mat, no gun etc. They will only be releasing certain titles which means some of my favorite games wont be released for it. It's 60$. If you have a pc you can just use a usb nintendo controller which is like $15 and run emulators.

It will take cartridges, but it will be very similar to the new nintendo system coming out. Which means no more blowing.
EDIT* some websites are saying yes it will have cartridges but they will be similar to the new nintendo system and some websites say no it wont and the lid cant open. I guess we will find out when it's released.

I think you're mixed up with the Mini NES and the as yet undisclosed NX. The Mini NES has no cartridges whilst the NX is rumoured to. http://www.polygon.com/2016/7/14/12193472/mini-nes-classic-edition-faq-nintendo

I have to call you out on this one.

The console does not use physical media and therefore the Chamber Lid does not open."

You realize that these are the same websites that said since nintendo is releasing a system like that, sega announces a system with 80 games. I did some research and sega released it back in 2012.

Super Mario Bros File Data File name: Super Mario Bros (E).zip File size: 30.8KB Region: Europe Console: Nintendo
30.8Kb for an entire game. Floppy disk is 1440Kb in size Super mario bros fits 46 times in a floppy disk or 32467 times in a 1gb compact flash (£10) or 4155844 times in a 128gb compact flash. I used google calculator for that. My android calculator gave me 4357718, idk, paint fumes have been fucking with me. according to this: http://nesrepairshop.com/forum/index.php?topic=30.0 there was anywhere from 670 to about 800 games released for the NES. Hmm. Yeah. If this console had a "800 games in one" cartridge I would get it in a heartbeat. Doesn't even need a cartridge. Just needs a board with some flash on it, and hey, bonus, you got as many save points as you could ever want.
