First agar pour = contaminated ?
    #23439329 - 07/13/16 10:18 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

OK , I tried my first agar, needless to say it was kind of a diaster. After many searches I think my second try will be better. Question some of my petri dishes are now showing some very small colonies of bacteria (trashed one fast mold) agar looks good ,is it possible to clean up these little contaminated spots ,or just trash them. Thank you for your help! PS
These are not inoculated yet.

If it's your first attempt, it would be better to juse make new plates. If it is in fact bacteria, it is technically possible to use the hot pour method to pour new agar over the bacteria and still use it, but that's not really ideal for this situation.

Just make new plates

:whathesaid: definitely make new ones if you're new. If you're not, and confident in your sterile techniques and contamination/healthy mycelium knowledge, you can basically clean almost any contamination on agar. Unless it's like visibly fused, like the last contamination in that thread.
