Green only at holes on oyster bag?
    #23438373 - 07/13/16 04:59 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

Noticed it is only on areas with exposed seed, if the exposed seed is why I understand, but how do I prevent it in the future when using bags to make straw logs?

When you stuff your bags or logs try to keep your grain away from the walls and you should get less contamination.

thanks, so kinda do it just like a basket? I followed RR's instructions and mixed spawn and straw, then bagged and layered more spawn as I went of course.
Should I cut out the mixing in?

Yeah exactly like RR's basket video.

I mix then layer just as you said, but I have also done layers of spawn only (purely out of laziness) which might be worth doing if your grain is contaminating near the air holes.

As long as you do small handfuls at a time so there are no large unspawned gaps I doubt colonization time would take any longer, it gets mixed a little as you pack the straw down and roll the logs too.
