Backyard / alley grow in VT this summer

Hi, everyone.
I'd like to set up an outdoor grow for edibles (maybe oysters) in a space between the fences in my Vermont back yard this summer (USDA Hardiness Zone 4b):

I'm looking for suggestions on ⦿ a strain to suit the temp/humidity, etc. in June and July, and ⦿ design of the space (e.g., grow against the lower (southern) fence by alternating layers of colonized rye berries with layers of straw, or whatever). This alley area only gets direct sun in the morning, and I could shade it.
One thought: I have some local wild oysters frozen from fall. Could I possibly grow mycelium on agar from those? If so, would that suit my Alley Grow?
Thanks!

Bump / update: I've got some shiitake I'm going to try to clone on agar.
I'm not growing these on logs; but is there any structure in which I should put a colonized substrate to grow outdoors (a box, a colonized straw bale, a straw bale in a box...)?
I'm going to start laying stone to prepare the space soon.
Thanks.

Use logs for shiitake. Otherwise if you want to make a bed look into king stropharia.

Thanks for the response. King stropharia looks like a good summer backyard mushroom (fruiting well into the 80s) - although there apparently are shiitake strains that will grow on straw (via RR).
In the alley: I've cleared the debris, and can put in a shroom bed. The width of this space is about 5 feet.

Suggestions on what I should use as lasagna layers? I have access to lots of red hemlock chips and sawdust - but I hear coniferous wood is not ideal (although I think hemlock's a softwood on the harder side, so I don't know).
Thanks!

Yea shiitake on sterilized straw, not in beds. King Stropharia (SRA) is your best bet. Get some oak, maple, birch or other comparable hardwood mulch for SRA beds.

Try wine caps for your outdoor bed
Although I believe they won't fruit until fall, not a warm weather strain

Will cold-frames in either of these scenarios help my stropharia patch overwinter?
Here are some measurements of the proposed space:

I could alternatively just cultivate the patch in this semicircular raised bed (it's just about the right size):

I've got all the hardwood chips I need, and 5lbs of spawn will be ready the coming week.

I talked with a local who has grown Stropharia rugoso-annulata in VT. I think I can get it to overwinter, esp. with protective mulch after fruiting winds down for the year.
So here's what I did (5lbs spawn + ~50lbs hardwood chips ):

I might add a hoop-house like top here if it gets too sunny. I'll let you know how it goes.
I watered it in with water I de-chloraminated using ascorbic acid. Does anyone know how this mushroom does with municipal chloraminated water? It will get old manually de-chloraminating every day it doesn't rain.
Thanks!

Quick update. Stropharia's mycelial mat is coming in:

It's getting nice and white under the top layer of chips.
Will update...
