Definately not... nothing active at least. It's still way to cold. You'll have to wait another month or two.

What's the word on how massive amounts of rain might affect the shroom harvest? It's been raining like mad down here in southern Georgia. Everything is waterlogged.

It's not even been 12 hours since I posted. I promise it's still too cold. Infact it's gotten colder since I said it was too cold

No way shrooms will be growing here anytime soon. Maybe we can wait till Weilii pops out when it gets warmer and spring comes along.

Sorry Gumbydude, I didn't make my post clear. I know perfectly well that there is pretty much no chance of finding cubes yet in the current cold weather. What I was wondering was, if massive amounts of water could be detrimental to future fruitings once the temps go up.

Up here in Atlanta the sun finally came out this morning, Feb the 18. I was so happy, even though this morning it was in the 30's, now it is about 50-60 degrees outside and a pretty day. The only problem is, does it have to be in the 50-60's range while its raining, or does it just have to be that temp after the rain? In other words can it be cold while raining and still produce shrooms after the sun comes out and warms everything up. Can someone please reply to my question, cuz I have a cow field next to my school, and I can already hear the shrooms calling my name=D.. Even if it is still to cold "which it prob is" the weather today is a nice thing to see after weeks of rain, and is a sweet reminder that those little shrooms will be here soon...

Last year I actually had better luck in the spring than I did in the fall. They fruit for a few months in the spring then slow to almost a stop during the hottest months. Then they'll come back in the fall in full swing provided we get enough rain. Last year sucked rainwise in the fall, which is why the spring season was a little bit better.

IF there is any mushrooms out in GA, what kind of effect will the snow have on them? When I finally do go hunting this will be my first time, I am reading all of the information that I possibly can about them and how to identify them..... Can anyone else give me any tips or suggestions? What is a good book and/or guide that I could get, where can I buy it? Thanx

Hey man no worries just relax, read up on the stuff and in no time the season will be on. Do what Gumby said and go get the book Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World. Good luck
