If the person you are "anon snitching on" takes the case to trial, and you at any given time gave your real name, it won't be confidential and you could be asked to testify. Not everyone takes cases to trial, but if they have a good attorney and they fight, you might have to testify.

What if surveillance and DNA evidence was all there and he's no oj Simpson what lawyer would fight for him ?
