Procrastinate much?
    #23435753 - 07/12/16 06:44 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

I've noticed myself doing this more as I age. Yet in recent months I have noticed a small voice at the back of my mind that whispers to me 'delayed gratification!'.

Is it something you tend towards? Has it got better or worse throughout your life?

--------------------
Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

I do so, a lot. But the moderating variable is not so much my age, despite of the fact that I procrastinate less than in the past.
It's majorly connected to how good I feel. Failures causing me to feel depressed lead to massive procrastination.
It is a problem.
But on the other hand it's a far bigger that problem that society tries to tell us that every second spent non-productive (in materialistic ways) is wasted time.
I can't have a relaxed day just doing what I want without this guilty conscience sneaking up on me.

I only procrastinate about things that I don't see much value in personally. I find that if something holds personal meaning to me then I usually can exert a lot of continual effort and focus to it  so I guess ideally it's a matter of aligning one's life with things that one is passionate about and find meaning/fulfilment in  or when something has to be done regardless, perhaps finding a way to become interested in it, see the meaning/purpose/value of it

Yes

Procrastination is resistance.

It's a negative energy field and an internal voice, "I don't want to. I don't feel like it."

Then, we get stuck in inaction as our harsh inner tyrant flogs us and tells us this is proof we're a lazy failure.

It's an easy rut to get stuck in.

Procrastination to me, is the work of the Devil.

I've even labelled dust as 'Devils Dew'. It is the symbol of the idle body.

I've considered it in this extreme for the fact that if we act spontaneously without surrendering to the voice in the head which deters us from acting, the reward to the state of mind is absolutely liberating and is key to achieving and maintaining grace.

Flowing without pause is the way. Like a smooth summer breeze.

Think about what you really want. The present should be full to the brim, if not, there's your procrastination - you know something is wrong and you know no amount of hard work will fix it, you have to fix your mind first.

What really made my procrastination become worse was this accident that made walking and standing slightly but permanently painful.
I'm somewhat deprived of the option of "fixing myself with hard work" - to the point that I don't even believe in it anymore.

I started making a list, there's nothing like a good list of stuff to do and it's so satisfying when you tick things off. It works for me. However, you can procrastinate for hours writing your list

A conscious approach to overcoming procrastination of the ego suggests a division between logic and humanity. LOL I think I recreated the plot theme of the matrix.

with a well planned schedule, you keep checking it and updating it as a primary chore.
in that way things that get fucked are fixed and most stuff does not get fucked

Do you find yourself indifferent to when tasks get done, and it doesn't bother you at all? Lately, I've noticed a significant amount of procrastination in my life, and it's become rather bothersome. I genuinely want to address this issue, so I've come across what seems to be a promising quit procrastinating book. According to reviews, it's a valuable resource: https://www.amazon.com/FLOW-Productivity-Subconscious-Re-Programming-Hypnosis/dp/B0BVTFSWPR. I plan to give it a try in the coming days and see if it helps.

not to care is a useless approach.

might as well not be in any responsible position for anything.
