Any lucid dreamers out there?
    #23435721 - 07/12/16 06:27 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

Starting to get back into it. Was wondering if there's any long term dreamers and what your journey has been like?

I haven't had a lucid dream in over a year, but I used to have them pretty frequently. I always fly while having them. When I first learned to fly in dreams it was like swimming. Now I can fly at the speed of light by just thinking about it. I can also bend matter with my mind and fly through walls. In one of the last lucid dreams that I had, I was looking at white fluffy clouds in a blue sky. I turned the clouds into geometric shapes like cubes, prisms, etc. After that I turned the biggest cloud into a gigantic angel. It was awesome!

I used to use lucid dreams as a stepping stone to astral projection. These episodes were the most psychadelic experiences of my life. I'll try and remember to post details when it isn't so late. But these episodes made inception look like idk glengary glenross?(is that a boring dull drab film? Anyway they made inception look like boring normal sobriety)

Ok here's a brief one. It was a 4 or five level deep dream. I took a shitload of kratom one night, knocked myself into a lucid dream.

I dreamt i woke up on acid, so i walk out my door. When i walk out i instantly sit up in my bed waking up into the middle of a shroom Trip. So i walk out tripping on shrooms only to snap back up in bed tripping on shrooms and acid.(I've never combined these two in real life) So i walk out my room on shrooms and acid only to snap back up this time on mescaline (have never had mesc irl).

At this point i dreamt that i had tripped so hard on acid that i forgot i took it, so i took shrooms, which made me trip so hard in addition to the acid that i forgot i had taken anything, so i took mesc. Basically at this point evrrything was so surreal i honestly believed i had taken all these drugs and put myself into a psychadelic coma. So i used all my stregnth i could muster to wake up.

It was like each dream was a rung on a ladder. I got to see each dream play in reverse like a vcr when all of a sudden...

BAM astral projection. Don't remember much of it. Just body vibrating like a circuit ready to blow. Swimming through indescribable scenery and hearing god him or herself (if your into that idk it was ... weird). Then he tild me to wake uo.

My alarm went off and i actually woke up this time. I stumbled out of bed thinking I'd slept for a thousand years. I threw uo and went to work and was back in boring ass normal life. Still high from the 40 grams i ate 30 minutes before this episode.

Shit man that's crazy. Kratom does give me a lot of that in between sleep and awake feeling. I can see it being helpful for initiating lucid dreaming. I was into it for a summer 3 years ago and had some fascinating times. But I took up smoking and it killed my dream recall. Now that I don't smoke that often, I'm getting back into it. Still working on staying in the dream. I want to try the spinning technique next time.

Those dreams within dreams are quite confusing. I'll have an intense dream, wake up into another dream and be telling people about the dream I had just to realize I'm in another dream, then repeat. Fucking weird but very entertaining haha

I'm almost always aware I'm in a dream every time I have one, but rarely ever do I have control over the dream or it's rather limited in how much control I have. Not even sure if that would be considered lucid dreaming lol

Been lucid dreaming since I was thirteen off and on.  I'm now 41 and have kept a dream journal for over 10 years.

I had one lucid dream, lasted long enough to fly out of the house that triggered my awareness and into outer space. I snapped out of the dream into sleep paralysis where the real ride occurred. My brain was still producing hallucinations, visual and auditory. Saw ghostly figures, heard horses galloping... I won't go into too much detail but it was a profound experience to feel physical hands touching my body when nothing was there

Sleep paralysis is fucking insane. It can be as good as it can bad.

Have you guys ever tried reading in a dream? I heard somewhere it's impossible, I've only read in a couple and i remember it being acid type morphing hieroglyphs, chinese and alien and dutch letters. I was looking at a package of oscar meyer bolgna.

Another time i tried reading shroomery while dreaming and it was like in the shining "all work and no play... etc" except it was a bunch of posts of people saying "are you fucked up?" But random capital letters and misspelled and they  all posted by the user "fucked up"::rofl:

Not sure what you mean by "what has your journey been like?"  ?

But I've been lucid dreaming since I was around 5 or 6 years old, it's something that just came naturally to me. I've always been a oneironaut and have experienced lots of other "sleep/dream" related phenomena like sleep paralysis, astral projection, etc....All of which I was experiencing long before I even knew these things had a name or knew what it was I was going through.

I'll go through periods where I have LD's several times a week, then other times where I'll go a week or two with out having one, the frequency that I'm fully lucid in my dreams ebbs & flows through out the year....but generally, I have a LD once a week on average. And even when I'm not fully lucid my dreams are quite vivid every single night .

I've also been a daily smoker of cannabis for about the past decade, and it hasn't dulled down my dreams at all like it seems to do for most folks.

Yeah smoking weed severely diminished my ability to remember dreams or become lucid. I've been pretty into the past couple weeks. Had 3 last night even. One of which I flew around for 5 minutes ish, woke up and did the WILD technique and feel right back into another lucid dream. I also had one where I fucked this girl and my orgasm was so intense I was positive I had a wet dream, but nope haha

I'm working on new techniques such as spinning to stay in a dream, rubbing/looking at hands and repeating "I'm dreaming" outloud or "increase clarity, etc"
Sometimes I just enjoy exploring the dream realm while experimenting with tricks to stay in the dream lucidly as long as possible.

I love weed and psychedelics don't get me wrong, but lucid dreaming and meditation have their special place in my sober heart haha

I too, used to have many flying lucid dreams as a child, but never knew the details of it. It's weird that a lot of people I've talked to about this phenomenon have never even had a single lucid dream. Thought it was more common

My first wet dream... At the time i must have been 16 and we had a hot neighbour. I never talked to her except the odd hello.

So in the dream i was at at her doorstep about to go on a date with her in the middle of the day. I was about to knock on the door but instead i lay on the doorstep and began to hump the door mat. I kept humping and then all of a sudden i woke up and i had jizzed myself.

The end.

No joke i laughed so hard i couldn't believe that was my first wet dream was with a door mat.... fuckin hell...

flying lucid dreams are the best! one time I was driving in my lucid dream and took off to the moon in my car, another time i had a flying machine and glided over my city. once i was on a motorcycle and jumped and kept going.

I had a horrifying lucid dream once where I was climbing on a really tall jungle gym type thing, like up in the sky. Then I got on this elevator that took me further into the sky and jumped off and fell. another time i was climbing on rollercoasters. i had a real fear of heights. was like a lucid nightmare lol

One time I smoked DMT in my dream and everything because amazingly vibrant colors in a wonderland type place.

Sucks I dont lucid dream anymore.

My dreams would normally start with sleep paralysis, and I would "climb" out of my body. I had a lot of trouble staying in a dream a lot of the time, my vision would go "black" and id be back in sleep paralysis. I got over this by looking at my hands a lot IRL and doing "reality checks", and it carried over to the dream world and allowed me to more easily stay lucid.

never suceeded, came clsoe a number of times having semi lucid moments, i think this is when people have been knocking on my door and i was keeping a dream log which has stopped till the other day, had such a strong vivid dream, ive listened to lucid hypnotic stuff and never helped, but i do love the album lucid dreams on the em:t record label with this woman Celia Green and a few others narrating chapters from her book on lucid dreams with some strange music, great to fall a aleep too.

I used to be an avid lucid dreamer. I experienced it for years before I knew there was even a name for it. As soon as I realize its a dream I  usually wake up. Every now and then I stay under and am able to take control...I mostly fly. Sometimes Im able to "connect" to other dreams Ive had where I can tap in and continue where I left off and remember everything like I never skipped a beat. Its usually like skipping a stone on water though. I dip in and out..my brain kinda panics and I wake up.

I actually havent experienced it in a while...

Ive never had a method. It just happens and Ive never had any control over it. My dream state has a very particular feel and Im instantly able to realize it. Once I do, I either instantly wake up or Im able to take control and do whatever. Its like entering a cheat code. The game just kinda falls apart and does what I will it to

Edit

Actually, the last time was maybe a week or so ago. Ive gotten into this new kick where I move things with my mind. Mostly just closing doors and such. It feels very real and Im certain I can do it when I wake up...but of course I cant. Still fun though.

Set an alarm for 5 hours after you lay down to go to sleep. When you lay down DO NOT under any circumstances look at a clock. When you wake up you won't know what time you actually fell asleep. Go use ths bathroom or do something small so you remember getting up earlier that morning but then go back to sleep.

When you lay back down you should be in REM which ime makes dreaming a lot easier.

The reason for not looking at a clock is that if you end up rolling in bed an hour before falling asleep you don't want to know that you did. Ignorance is bliss when it comes to sleeping and trying to get your mind in the most vulnerable state possible

Lucid dreaming is the gateway to infinite wonder, transcendent mystery and ecstatic bliss.

It is by far the most under rated and unknown skill.

If people knew what they were missing out on, they would make mastering lucid dreaming their top priority.

The experiences I have had through lucid dreaming are by far the most magnificent and unspeakably profound and wonderful of my life by far.

Through lucid dreaming I have tasted heaven and seen God.

Lucid dreaming is a miracle.

It is also only the beginning of the journey.

Once you attain lucid dreams, then you can begin mastering the even more advanced techniques of dream yoga and dream magick.

Check out this thread for an introductory guide to get you started .

I'll post the guide here for your convenience:

1. Keep a dream journal and pen by your bed. Write down all your dreams in as much detail as possible first thing every morning.

2. Set the intention to get lucid. Write down in your journal "I will have a lucid dream" ten times before bed, then focus on having a lucid dream as you fall asleep. Think to yourself "I will notice when I am dreaming. I will recognize when I fall asleep. When I am dreaming I will realize I am alseep" etc as you fall asleep.

3. Begin performing "reality checks" once every hour during your day. As yourself "am I dreaming?" sincerely consider that you may be dreaming. Perform a test to check. Tests you can use:

A. Check a clock and read the time. Then look away, and then back. Read the time again. If you are able to read the time easily both times and the time is the same, you are not dreaming.

If you are dreaming the time will be impossible to read, composed of nonsensical numbers or letters, shifting or blurring etc. And if you can read the time in a dream and look away and look back, the time will have changed.

B. Flip a light switch on and off a few times. If the light changes when you flip the switch, you are not dreaming. If it does not, you are asleep.

C. Try to push the finger of your right hand through your left palm. Will it and intend it to go through. If it does not, you are awake. If it does, you are dreaming.

Once you have made a habit of doing a reality check every hour, you will eventually do one while you are dreaming and become lucid.

4. Practice the interrupted sleep technique/ Wake back to sleep method. Set your alarm for 1-2 hours before you need to wake up. When it goes off, get out of bed, write down any dreams, go for a short walk around your house, drink a glass of water and then go back to sleep with the intention to have a lucid dream firmly in your mind.

You are most likely to have a lucid dream in the last 1-2 hours of sleep in a night, and you are exponentially more likely to have one if you practice the interupted sleep/ wake back to sleep method.

Studies show that a majority of people who practice this technique will achieve a lucid dream within a few weeks, even if no other method is used.

Combine these methods and persist and you will achieve lucid dreams.

A few considerations:

1. Some people find that nootropics (piracetam and citicoline etc) enhance dreaming.

2. Some people find that not smoking weed enhances dreaming.

3. Do not drink flouridated tap water, as flouride calcifies the pineal gland and likely impairs dreaming.

4. Practice a healthy lifestyle and do not over indulge in junk foods or alcohol etc as this may impair dreaming.

5. Calea Zetatuchi (sp?) or mexican dream herb is said to induce lucid dreams.

6. Watch the movie "Waking Life" for insights into lucid dreaming. I had my first lucid dream after watching this movie.

7. Once you learn to get Lucid, this is only the beginning. There is a whole list of more advanced dream techniques that are super amazing and can be performed when lucid.

This is "entry one" into my lucid dreaming manual. I am highly advanced in lucid dreaming and have had hundreds of lucid dreams, and have mastered several advanced lucid dream techniques. I will update this thread periodically with more tips and tricks and techniques for lucid dreaming.

Moonshoe is a level 10 dreamer. I thought the cap was at level 8.

A lot of it too is putting it up in the front of your thought so that no matter where your mind wanders off to at the last moment before sleep it's still on lucid dream.

Like think of each thought as a car on a highway. When you get hit by a car(thought) your mind will latch onto that thought and manifest a dream out of it. So put as many lucid dream cars on the highway to increase your chance of having a dream manifest out of that car (thought)

If that even makes sense?

Idk that's the best way to put how i view it. Almost any night where i can get a full 8 hours sleep in i can guarantee i have some degree of a lucid dream. I just suck at elaborating on how i get it to work for me.:shrug;

Moonshoe do you have astral projections or practice them? I've had them quite often, they seem to come hand in hand with LD.

I know some people say if you have to sleep to project it isn't really projecting. Idk what makes them say that. I see AP as a state of mind more then anything, and the dream cycle is when my mind is the most tangible and open for shaping.

Good lookin Moonshoe  waking life is my number 1 favorite movie ever. Matrix behind that haha. I like to use the wake back to bed technique. Wake after 6 hours, stay up for 30 minutes and use the mnemonic induced lucid dream technique when I got back to bed. Then use WILD when I wake up from the later dreams. Usually have at least one lucid dream every night I try this.

And during waking life I do the hand reality check: continuously ask myself "am I dreaming?" Check my surroundings and senses, then stare at my hand/fingers, look away and look back to see if my hand is still normal. Or I will just poke my hand with my finger of my opposite hand. Do this a bunch during the day, you'll definitely do it in your dreams.

Oh and dream journal is mandatory along with no smoking weed. I was prescribed elavil for ibs a couple months ago and it has made my dreams very vivid and increase likelihood for lucidity. I've heard of a few other supplements, some things in DreamLeaf? Look up its ingredients.

The western world has no idea the depth of experience and wisdom one can gain from our dreams, meditation and psychedelics.

Oh! And if anyone's looking for a good guidebook, check out "Exploring the world of lucid dreaming" by Stephen Laberge. He's the first scientist to prove in a laboratory that lucid dreaming is real. Also created the Lucidity Institute out in Hawaii I believe

I haven't had a lucid dream in a while, but I am big into remembering my dreams...

Had an interesting one the other night. I was in this high tech public porter potty and found a double perculated glass on glass bong in it lol... I got really excited and decided I would sell it ^_^ Then found myself in a mall rastafarian clothing shop, in the back was a little corner this chick was sitting in and there were images of the all seeing eye all over it, I was discussing with her how actually that symbol does not mean illuminati, it's masonic.

....When this occurs, 99% of the time I instantly think that I've just been dosed very heavily and that I'm actually tripping "in real awake life", I always go around asking people in my dreams if someone has dosed me, or where I'm at, or the date/time, basically just wanting to know WTF is going on  .

This has happened so many times.

I think that would be a bizarre thing to experience, always waking up from blank/black sleep....When ever I wake up, whether it's in the middle of the night or in the morning, I'm always waking up from a dream. I feel like I'm literally dreaming all night long. It's like I go into a completely different life/world when I go to "sleep", like I can actually draw maps of the places I've been going to in my dreams since childhood.

Hell yes!

I didn't read the posts before this, but in case it wasn't mentioned, there is an app dedicated to lucid dreaming called "Awoken" which is totally worth the 3-4 dollars.

I got into lucid dreaming because I developed an issue with sleep paralysis (with visions) in my early/mid 20s (VERY rare time to develop it, thought I had a tumor). Had some TRULY terrifying experiences, I'll post one below for fun. Learning to LD (and astral project), gave me control over these terrifying moments and turned them into something to look forward to. There is a good documentary on sleep paralysis/crazy dreaming called "The Nightmare", my experiences were as bad as the people being interviewed. That's how much learning to dream lucid has helped me.

For the record I did so mostly with reality checks. Looking at my hand is my favorite (counting my fingers) and totally trips me out every time I do it in a dream. REALLY curious that your brain is capable of creating a very convincing entire world, yet can't replicate something you see everyday.

Chemicals also helped in the beginning. I think this was mentioned, but some nootropics have an effect on dreams and any supplement that boosts choline/acetylcholine either as a precursor or inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesterase WILL have a dramatic effect on dreams, making them more vivid and you more likely to become lucid. Few examples of things that can effect dreams: huperazine A, Alpha-GPC, Nicotine, Melatonin, CDP-Choline, Choline bitartrate, DMAE, some B vitamins, racetams (supposedly), Centrophenoxine, Vinpocetine, etc, etc. Many of these chemicals work WONDERS on focus/memory if taken daily. Many also have symbiotic effects when taken together (e.g. an AChEI with a choline pro-drug). You can buy supplements that have a few combined (expensive), personally I like Powder City.

If you are feeling adventurous, Galantamine is readily available over the internet, but I'm not sure it's too wise to take prescription grade anti-Alzheimers drugs for recreational dreaming experiences. I had one of the most uncomfortable/downright horrific nights of my life on this stuff, could not tell reality from dreams, felt like my brain was being torn apart, horrible nightmares, etc. Check out all associated health precautions if anyone plans on trying it.

Lastly, you can learn to astral project surprisingly easy, which is FAR more rewarding than lucid dreaming imo. There are lots of methods out there from the ridiculous to ridiculously useful. I can post what worked for me if anyone is interested.

Bad sleep paralysis experience: Woke up as usual "stuck", feeling like I was suffocating, sinking, dying, typical experience. I was told to focus on moving one part of my body when this happens instead of trying desperately to jump up, but this time I couldn't even move my ankle like usual. My eyes were watching the clock tick impossibly slow when I heard a sound. I watched this beautiful naked woman walk slowly into my room and up to my bed before straddling me. These experiences are so real that I could feel the bed move under her weight, I could smell her breath (lavender), her hands on me, everything totally indistinguishable from everyday life. This obviously wasn't unpleasant until I suddenly remembered sleep paralysis is the origin of the succubus myth. Too late I tried to banish the thought and I watched this beautiful smile turn into an incredibly evil, fangy grin that spread halfway up either side of her head. Her breath changed from cherry smelling to stinking of rotten fish, I could feel the heat of it burning my cheek, her hand - which was doing something amazing - turned into claws that started tearing me to shreds (easily the worst pain I've ever felt). Mind you the whole time I knew it was a dream, but that's little comfort. Using every ounce of my will I reached up and grabbed her and threw her off while screaming at the top of my lungs (in pain and horror). I felt my hands grab her and throw her weight off of me. I blinked and she was gone. I was awake sitting up.

So yea, it was never fun. Interestingly most people develop these problems either around the ages of 5-7 or 15-17. I have no idea how a 6 year old is supposed to deal with something like that. I can almost understand where these life long alien abduction nutjobs are coming from.

When I was around 12 I had a dream in which this dark figure was following me around my house and once he got near me I realized I was dreaming and everything just kind of stopped. I didn't really know what to do from there and so I woke myself up. After that I was able to wake myself up from nightmares or stop them and change up the theme, though they never carried on for too long. I don't know if that would be considered lucid dreaming but I'm sure it's somewhere along the spectrum.

I think by definition that would be lucid dreaming. Consider yourself lucky, I have those nightmares where I KNOW I'm dreaming and that I have to wake myself up, but am unable to. I think that's pretty common actually.

When I realize I'm lucid, I almost always try to fly, maybe give that a shot next time it happens.

I can usually wake myself from a nightmare by blinking really hard and long.

Shit dude, sleep paralysis sounds terrifying. But I've also read you can easily turn that experience into a lucid dream or Astral projection. I don't know mych about AP. hiw exactly do you do that and what is it like?

I remember trying just choline bitartrate, Melatonin and B vitamins. I'm kinda skeptical about synthesized nootropics. I do like taking lions mane mushroom, green tea and reishi or chaga mushroom tea daily. Reishi mainly for physical health, buy lions mane is a sort of natural nootropic. I've only taken for a couple weeks so far though. I tried noopept once and it was Wayyyyyyyy too stimulating. I was drenched in sweat and very anxious. Similar to caffeine overdosed. But I may look onto the others for lucid dreaming.

Idk, I had a lucid dream a couple years ago where I had a conversation with Einstein. At the time I was researching different supplements for inducing lucidity so I asked him what his thoughts were on taking things to enhance lucidity. He replied, "the true path to self is one found naturally."

I had a fucking gnarly sleep paralysis like 2 years ago. Maybe 1.5. Hard to say...

Anyways, I was just in my fucking bed, you know? And all of a sudden, I felt this sort of ectoplasmic entity touching my body. I couldn't move too well, I was basically paralyzed although I could kinda move slowly. It was like this ghost entity, and it whisphered in my ear "aye aye, motherfucker." Was really strange, felt crazy that this thing could enter my room, like I was defenseless. I also remember jumping up at some point and shouting 'who's there?!!?!?"

It was really weird but in retrospect, it was a pretty cool dream

Sleep paralysis is the stage where you are primed for an OBE. Just will yourself to float up and out of your body. If you get sleep paralysis you are lucky- you are naturally primed for OBE.

Sleep paralysis helped me learn to control my dreams to a large degree. But the origin of sleep paralysis and hypnagogic hallucination for me was insomnia I had suffered from for many years in my teenage years and early 20s.

When my insomnia stopped, so did the sleep paralysis and hypnagogic hallucinations, however I became interested in lucid dreaming as there was that void.

Sleep paralysis is a good sign that you are printed for lucid dreaming for sure, but it's not a necessary component by any means. In my experience, you can have more vivid and memorable dream experiences with more powerful conscious control with more rest than less. I have my most lucid experiences with 9 hours of sleep as opposed to less sleep these days.

I used to experiment with herbs to lucid dream. I didn't read through the thread to see if any were mentioned but one particular one completely turned me off to experimenting further. I somehow had the same dream over and over again with a certain herb called dream root or something similar. While I remember this dream in great detail, I had zero control over it while knowing I was dreaming.
I'm in a world that's inside out if you will, I'm walking naked on dirt, I dig my foot into it and there is grass underneath, I walk up to a bare tree and cut it to find bark underneath, the sky is a hazy red with barren but hilly surroundings, I can see people with no skin in the distance but I never approach them and feel afraid to do so. Then I find a small pond, the pond is a portal and the only thing that looks inviting in this bare world, the only thing with inviting colors so I jump in and wake up.

Sleep paralysis is not a necessary component to lucid dreaming. It is the beginning state of an Out of Body Experience, which is a different thing than a lucid dream.

Yea, it got so bad that I was staying awake for days on end trying to avoid sleep at any cost. But you're right, you CAN turn SP into LD/AP, and when the doctors (of which I saw MANY) could offer me no help, it was the lucid dreaming communities that helped me realize the potential of this dilemma. I owe them much.

As for the astral projection. Like I said, there are MANY techniques, you have to find one that works for you. Many border on self hypnosis (which has a low success rate for me), the following works almost every time for me. With that said, it may not be practical for every occasion, you'll see why...

Set your alarm for a time when you are in your deepest sleep (ideally that should be around 3-4am). Get to bed, don't eat a big meal, don't drink lots, don't smoke lots, i.e. don't take anything that your body will have to metabolize and therefore use energy. You want to be sleeping deeply when your alarm goes off. When you wake up from the alarm, do something mentally stimulating for about 15mins, something that makes you think. I get online the night before and jot down a few complex integration problems because it's something I have a tough time with, but I've heard crossword puzzles and Sudoku work well. Do your task, and go back to sleep. At this point it helps to try to keep your mind active so long as you are still sleepy, you don't want to fully wake up. If it's going to happen you'll know it.

I always feel it coming on, typical hypnogogia, usually a somewhat uncomfortable buzzing or humming feeling all throughout my body, but the buzzing can be downright orgasmic too, depends on the night. Next thing I know, I'm being sucked out of my body into the right corner of my ceiling (for some damned reason...). At this point it is something of an effort to actually stay in the room, when I let go (at first I was TERRIFIED to do so), I end up getting sucked out of the house (usually through a window but not always) and rocketing upwards. Fast. DMT flash fast. Watching as the ground dissapears and eventually the sky gets darker and darker blue, finally fading to black. If I can stop myself from going to far up, I can wander around the planet quite readily. Most of the time this is not the case and I just keep getting sucked up until the blackness fades into impossible to describe experiences. Somewhat DMT like I suppose. Merging with all, knowing all. That kind of thing.

I'm not one to believe some of the more outlandish theories you'll find on the net regarding this topic, but I've had some TRULY bizarre experiences that I can't rightly explain. I've seen friends pulling up to my house in cars they don't usually drive while outside my body only to have them wake me up a few minutes later and being able to describe the car. Things like that. I'm not ready to sign off on the "soul leaving the body" thing, but some really coincidental things have taken place while I'm in this state. It's worth pursuing.

Some techniques: http://themindunleashed.org/2013/06/10-effective-techniques-to-experiencing.html
Good tips: http://humansarefree.com/2013/12/11-steps-to-astral-travel.html Number 5 is a biggy, daytime naps almost always do it for me.

Lastly, by all means it is wise to be skeptical of putting any chemical into your body, be it natural or synthetic. There are quite a few of these chemicals that are naturally occurring and found in everyday foods. With that said, natural doesn't always equal safe, nature produces the most toxic substances known to man. Do your homework. If you can get there "on the natch" (as Terence would say), well, better yet.

Is this really true? Wow. That would definitely explain the feeling I get of being out of my body during certain episodes of sleep paralysis. I'm not sure if they're actual episodes anymore, or just strange nightmares. My room has always felt very heavy and dense to me. Thermal even. I get super hot even in the winter.

The other night I had an experience where I had "awoken" and heard a particularly unnerving song on the radio (I play internet radio to lull me to sleep sometimes), and to escape, I got out of bed, "felt" my way downstairs into the bathroom (I always feel blind in my episodes), and turned on the light. My reflection showed me with my hair covering my face. It was wet, and I tried to remove it, to breathe, but all for naught. Then came the hypnagogic jerk. I woke up as the song ended, very shaken and frightened, as is usual when this happens.

I will definitely be watching that documentary. Thanks for sharing.

I have had a few lucid dreams in the past. It hasnt happened in years for me. Probably because ive been smoking alot.

I used to have this weird spinning sensation when i was a kid. I would be asleep then i would wake up. Looking back now, i think half the time i was dreaming. What would happen is i would wake up and i couldnt move but the bed would feel like it was in space and it was spinning. I would spin upside down and side to side and it would feel like it would go on for hours. Even some nights i would start to spin when i was even trying to go to sleep Like when i was definatly awake. The spinning would feel like it would go on for hours every niht. I dreaded this feeling so much it made me feel nauseous. I wonder what caused this?

Apart from that i cant remember having much lucid shit... up until i started reading up on it. I tryed for months and months. I started working on visualizing things with my eyes closed. I worked and worked at it and eveuantly i was able to litlerary produce images in m head with my eyes closed. I could only do single images at a time mostly, faces, symbols etc.

then one night something happened. I went to bed as usual, lay down, closed my eyes and i just started to visualize things. I decided i would try remember my room and everything around me. So i visualised my self looking at my computer desk to my left, my tv at the end of my bed, looking out the window at the street. I then opened the door and started going through every room in the house.

I eventually worked my way out to our back yard. I would imagine myself walking everywhere, remembering everything about the world outside my bedroom and just visualizing it. Before i knew what was happening i must have slipped into a lucid dream because i stopped visualizing everything and i was doing things. I went all sorts of places and did all sorts of things but i cant really remember what as this was like 5 years ago and i never wrote any of it down.

Writing things down is really the key. You need to train your brain to visualize then summarize. In my experience anyway!

Ive had a handful of lucid dreams since then but they all seemed to be random at any time of the night. Il just all of a sudden be somewhere in a dream then think to myself "hey.... how did i get here... This doesnt make any sense...  HANG ABOuT!!! IM DREAMING!!!" then il go fly or whatever... Its so great!!!

Ive also had sleep paralyses one night. I think it started happening an hour or so after i went to sleep. I woke up and i couldn't move and i would feel like i was shaking or trembling. I tried my very hardest but it just wouldn't work. If i really worked at it i was able to move but then i would just doze back off very quickly

This happened a couple more times then it happened big time (hard to explain) it felt like there was this force pulling me down or something real weird. Then i was having all these weird hallucinations of music and other weird things. Then i floated up out of my bed, floated through walls and went down the hall. I seen someone and talked to them or something and everything happened so quickly.

This has never happened to me again.... I want it to happen again! Super intrigued!!! Espically that it only happened that one night. That one night it must have happened maybe 4 times. So crazy

Actually recalling all these experinces makes me want to have a break of weed for a bit and work on this sort of stuff. I love it when it happens its like a random trip in the middle of the night! Just my cup of tea lol

I had the weirdest dream last night, man.

I was in the back of a car, I think arrested, in front of some house. Then Johnny Manziel (the now former embattled football player) walked out holding his girlfriend hostage, and the cops or SWAT team or whatever just started unloading on him. With like machine guns and AK's and shit. And he wouldn't die. He would just keep coming. He even taunted a cop who was shooting him by walking up to him and giving him a high five.

But then that cop handed him a grenade and ran. The grenade exploded his ass and then I woke up.

felt weird man

Sleep paralysis is the stage where you are primed for an OBE. Just will yourself to float up and out of your body. If you get sleep paralysis you are lucky- you are naturally primed for OBE.

Having gone through SP hundreds of times, I've lost count long ago...I'm kinda glad and feel lucky that I experience it as often as I do because it's great to use as a "spring board" into LD and astral projection/OOBE . And the entire experience of SP is some major food for thought for me, interesting stuff even when it's terrifying :strokebeard: .

The first couple years that I started to get SP from time to time, they were some of the most terrifying, dreadful, and "mind fucking" experiences of my life (I didn't read about SP until long after I started to go through it)...over the years, after use of various psychedelics and meditation, I started to learn and get a grasp on how to not give into and get caught up in the fear that's commonly associated with SP....and I was able to either wake my self up out of the paralysis, or slip into some of the most vivid lucid dreams I've had, or spring into some bizarre astral projection/out of body type experiences. I was having astral projection/OOBE before I had even heard/known about the word "astral projection".

I've experiences all sorts of weird shit during "sleep paralysis"...the entire gamut. From just feeling kinda stuck, to the classic SP experience of feelings of fear and seeing something in the room, to feeling like I'm being attacked by something, feeling almost possessed as if something was trying to crawl into and speak through me. Some that felt almost like an alien abduction, encounters with animals...all sorts of strange stuff goes down  .
