Anyone ever use seaweed as a slug deterrent for out door beds?

I've read about it. The salt being the reason it works because slugs hate salt. Just wondering if anyone has experience. I have unlimited access to seaweed. I was also wondering, if I did use it if I should just use it around a patch or bed or can I maybe even just lay directly on the substrate?  Wondering if that would be no good for the mycelium though.

leave a can of beer out for them. They go right for it, fall in and drown

I've tried this. Maybe you're thinking of a small patch?  Just wondering because I've littered cat food and tuna cans with them littered around beds and still found more eating fruits than giving a fuck about the beer time and time again. I've tried so many suggested remedy to get rid of slugs. Nothing has worked. I read about seaweed so figured I'd try that but was curious on if anyone has had experience with as much. I've tried DE, eggshells, beer, salt.  Proly alot more. All were pretty uneffective in being deterant.
