Stupid Pink Buffalo

Picture if you will, six BRF cakes, colinizing fully withing 2 weeks. Pretty good right? WRONG. The Mycelium was hard enough to use as a hammer. So what to do? Dunk and roll right? Ok, done. The Mycelium came back with a vengance. within 3 days the cakes were covered with pretty, white fluffy growth so we think to ourselves, "Problem solved" right? WRONG. withing a week the new Mycelium is diamond hard again, so we try the straw TEK, to no avail. The cakes are now 3 and a half weeks old, rock hard, and have no intentions of having little mushroom children. No pins at all. How do I stop this evil? Everything was looking so nice till their birthday, then I find out my kids are retarded. what gives?

P.S.
the fruiting chamber stays around 90-95% humidity with a temp of about 80 degrees. they get light for around 5 hours a day.

lay them on top of perlite? the moisture will continually get wicked up so you won't have to continuouslly replenish what seems to be a really thirsty cake.

they are already directly on the perlite, I thought that might help. Also i have no access to millet as my job sucks ass and I have no money. Literally NO money. So I cant do the rez tek. Also, this is my first attempt at this and casing is a little scary. I would try it if I thought I could afford it though.

Casings aren't that scary. If you've got 6 cakes, why not try to case just one of them (or perhaps two) inside of a small tray using straight verm. If your cakes aren't doing anything currently, surely a small casing would not be a waste? And if it does work, you'll have more than whatever you have now.

no no...

Take the cakes, crumble them, and mix that with sterile field capacity verm. dump all that into a casing tray and case it with verm/coir. let it grow a few days in the incubator and bam! fruit that sweet rez casing. Millet is in no way required, that was just the substrate starter chose for his growlog.

when their birthed put them in a styrofoam bowl cut down to about an inch, fill that bowl with verm and put cake on top. then put a little more verm on top of the cake. constantly wet the verm to keep moist but not running off, wetting should be about every three days. this will definitly resolve your dehydration problems.

Thanks everybody, I will try the wet verm thing, I have plenty of that. There is also a syringe of B+ so not all is lost yet. Ive been doing a lot of reading, and apparently I am not the only one with troubles with the PB strain. There are lots of complaints about not being able to fruit it. If the verm thing doesnt work, I guess I will try to case it when I get some money, if that doesnt work, I will move on to the B+.
