Hi
Guys can anyone point me in the direction to find some data on cube strains and how they differ on characteristcs. I bought Pourtas, Mex and Amazonian spores from a pvt supplier. I just have this gut feeling I might be dooped and only have 1 strain. I know a cube is a cube so Im not phased by that. However I would like to try place what Cubes I have and if its all from the same region. My PR and Ama will be fruiting soon, Ive just been working with the Mex so no reff pics yet of the 3.

Hahaha I figured as much, oh well guess Im going to have to rest my case on assuming I have 1 strain and 3 isolations of it now.

Your terminology is way way off....ugh I tried to play along earlier but this calls for it.....please read the rules before posting:
6. Do NOT ask strain questions in cultivation. Ask those silly q's here, 'Strain' in mushrooms is not the same as strain in pot growing, thus we keep 'strain talk' sequestered in it's own dungeon so people won't think it actually matters.

Right... If you make 3 true isolates, from whatever variety... then you have 3 separate strains...

Ok, didnt read the rules... But based on my strain talk I think its easy to assume Potheads dont read rules .
Thanks for the insight as to the correct thread to be in. With coutless new posts a day getting oriented and sifting data is endless. Often saves time grabbing someones book mark.

Right on brother...
Once you get into it more can start learning quick.
Agar is the shit... it can sometimes take awhile to get a "tested" isolated strain with the generics your want. (unless get lucky right out of the gate)
But once you do, you can make a master grain, slants, or LC's and keep the strain going indefinitely for the most part.... order depending which route you chose when saving the original culture...

Fully agree!
Ive been working with Agar/LC for about 6 months now. Just started with slants due to some oyster cultures arriving this week. Ive bought a few cultures now and the cost of loosing them is starting to concern me.
Must say terms are a B... Everytime the internet teaches me something turns out the understanding is off.
