will this graft survive? pachanoi / bridgesii infection
    #23427787 - 07/09/16 09:22 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

Hey guys,
I'm having a hard time finding an answer in existing threads so I'll ask. It's day 15 for these guys. It started showing dark spots around the top of the stock after about 3-4 days. I performed surgery and the dark spots returned. I decided after lots of reading to just dust it with sulpher powder and hope for the best. That was a week ago. Today I took off the band's holding the scion in place and put it in the shade outside. The dark spots are still present but firm like healthy flesh. What do you think my chances are? HTTP://

Doesnt look quite like rot. More like weeping black rot. It should be fine. Is it stuck on well?

Thanks for the diagnosis! I have seen that kind of rot before but didn't know what it was.
It seams to be stuck on well. The color and new growth at the top of the scion are good signs. Would it be a good idea to lightly pull or push on the scion to test it?

I'll update with a new pic in a few days. Gotta reintroduce it to sunlight over the next couple weeks.

Sometimes happens to my grafts when there is not enough air circulation.

I get that too when I use saran wrap. Typically seems to not affect the scion too much.
