I wouldn't read too much into the Myers Briggs stuff. Its kinda like horoscopes in that its just vague enough to work IMO.

iirc there are quite a lot of inxx's on shroomery, with a disproportionate amount of infjs and intjs.
Of course myers-brigg is not absolute and you cannot pigeonhole humanity into 16 categories, it's method is just one way to quantify a person's personality - but yeah, when I looked into it more it made so much sense to me that I was genuinely comforted that I finally seemed to fit a 'type' and it made me feel like less of an alien.
I'm introverted, but I connect with people super easily - I've always shifted between social butterfly and being super aloof as a result. INFJs seem to be the most easy to mis-type as well, but that's kind of expected for a type known to be chameleon like.

ehh. Horoscopes are a little(much)flakier. If you read more into myers briggs and different functions, it makes much more sense and actually does have some weight- the thing is that it's not a hard science and anything that relies on a persons ability to assess themselves objectively is inherently flawed.
I've actually had employers make me take myers briggs tests(as well as DISC personality tests, which is interesting to look into if you can find a free one to take) before employing me, which I think is excessive, but interesting.

Fuck you Malcolm, my horoscopes are always dead on, I tell you what. It's like they can read my future.

Success in anything you start today, while it might be slow in coming, is almost one hundred percent assured as long as you just stick with it.
Look at that shit! 100% right. I'll have you know I started on the second boss of Dark Souls 3 today and although I've been massacred over and over, I know I WILL succeed because my horoscope says I will! So take that negativity shit elsewhere.

Writing a horoscope column would actually be a terrific writing exercise. You've got to focus on universally applicable themes using specific language. That being said I'm a pisces/aries cusp so I've never known which one to read and quickly lost interest .
My mom is into crystals and feng shui and astrology(but she's also super technical so it's kinda a weird mix) and has always tried to get me into it.

Apparently mediocrity is the key to success
@PB
I agree that MBTI isn't nearly as ridiculous as horoscopes. I've taken the MBTI test and always get E/I NT P/j. I feel the introverted/extrovert and perceiving/judging categories just depend on how I feel at the time of taking the test.

I used to be into all that shit. My grandma was pretty into that stuff in my early childhood. She taught me about auras and astral projection. I only remember her mentioning it in passing but she used to also study "witchcraft" and shit like that as well. My childhood kinda lined up with her gradual decline of interest in that stuff and I caught just most of the tail end of it. I know at one point she was so deep into weird shit like that, that she had a psychotic episode and had to be institutionalized for awhile because she was convinced vampires were real and she refused to sleep so she wouldn't get bit. . To me it was just normal but I imagine anyone who met her later on in life that heard about how she used to be would do a double or triple take and refuse to believe it. She was a very "normal" grounded person, like the most neutral/bland person you could imagine.

I almost forgot who I was talking to for a second
@Masked
The test will ask you how align with personality statements such as "I prefer large crowds", or "I like to plan things before starting a task." You'll respond with strongly agree/disagree and it will categorize you based on your answers. I'm not gonna get into all the different measurements and what they mean. If you decide to take the test the results page will explain it better than I can.

Yes. I score either INFJ or INFP, though my love of to-do list and neurotic quest for perfection usually makes me lean slightly more towards j than p. but I think that's more a flaw of the tests I've taken than the philosophy as a whole because when I've read further into it and tried to accurately assess myself it became much clearer - the lines will always be blurry though, anything dealing with something as subjective as the human personality will always be blurry
when you look further into the functions and do some reading(extroverted intuition vs introverted intuition is an interesting read that focuses mainly on how someone collects and processes information, for instance) it's actually quite a complex and well thought out exercise in psychology.
But yeah, it's easy for people to kinda drink the koolaid and try to pigeonhole everyone and everything.

admittedly my results go between infj and intj depending on my mood, but it's always one of those two.
when I'm in a good mood I get INFJ, when I'm less cheerful INTJ

I score high on both T and F, but I score super high on feelings and ultimately decide that it's just better to be a big wet noodle instead of lack in emotional intelligence, so I always end up as an INFX
My brother is the only one that scores as an S in my family and it makes complete sense, both my parents and I are super into abstract somewhat alternative stuff, my parents both score as INTJs though I do suspect they could also score as INFJ, my brother who has always been the super conventional and normal version of blacksheep in my family scores as like an ESFP.

I scored INFP There is some merit to that test for sure. Only a miniscule percent of people score INTJ (1-3% IIRC) but in our community it's like 30-40% of users. That alone lends some merit to the test

Hey I love astrology!!
But not the column astrology, people who read those should not take them seriously. But good for you man Shroomslip. I stopped playing Dark Souls. I am too OCD when I play games and don't want to fuck up majorly bc I'm exhausted all the time.
I've always gotten INFJ for years but now I'm ENFJ. what? But that was like a few months ago where I was feeling pretty extroverted. Now I'm back to being a hermit.

ya to me that really makes sense, at least from observing people I am close to and their interest or lack thereof with psychedlics, the IN types seem to be obsessed with them whereas the others seem to either have a passing interest or outright fear of them
