Akira's a good dude. I've had interesting conversations with him. He doesn't know how to debate, but he's far from the idiot people paint him as.
Also @pirate I've felt the same way about a lot of shitposters around here

Yeah Akira's cool. He's not an idiot at all, just gets high and tries to argue semantics Hope he's doing well, I haven't seen him round these parts in a bit.

I agree, alot of the intelligent posters here end up having a big cocky attitude to me thru the boards. But their strengths are also shown. Emotional intelligence is also something that I can see in numerous posters. I enjoy reading from people who have enjoyable emotional posts to posters who have very level headed emotional input as well. I quite envy those people who are not overly emotional like I see myself as being. But there's strengths in all of that too.

SVS is a prime example of that, on the rare occasion he shows it is clearly very intelligent.
@MM Thanks (Though I'm just a long-time drug nerd also interested in psychology, which comes up a lot in ODD ), but you are forgetting some. Jellyfish perhaps the most dramatic example in ODD, having just submitted his doctoral thesis and planning on post-doc work ( ). Hanz as well, never went on to get his doctorate but to quote Jellyfish "Your work makes my O. Chem PhD look like a liberal arts degree" For the Shroomery as a whole (Re: Forgetting people), Enlil one of the most dramatic examples. I assume the most common reason some people didn't list him is how concise he often is. One of my favorite quotes is "Poor Faulker, does he really thing big emotions come from big words?", and of course Occam's Razor applies here, too.
I think many user's here are well above average intelligence.

I actually see you as one of the more level headed peeps around here, Pachoo. I think striking a balance between thought and feeling is the key. I think it's good to have a lot of both!
I'm sure you feel a lot though, too, fellow infj

He's not even good at arguing semantics. One time he quoted dictionary definitions at me for a few words and cherry picked single words from those definitions in an attempt to connect them to make his point. His supposed connections were total nonsense. It was ridiculous.

tbf, no one is good at arguing semantics because it's a poor debate method in general. but ya, I feel you.
I just hate shit talking, and he's a good contributor to a lot of the music threads.

I'm amazing at arguing semantics. It's hella fun. Also, people always rag on arguing semantics, but the meanings of words are kind of important given they are the basis for communication.
Other than his ridiculous debate tactics, he's cool. He likes art as I do, even though his philosophical views on art are silly. We've gotten into multiple insanely long debates on that toopic.

Don't you think that they kind of just distract from the main argument? I absolutely agree that context is important, but the main reason I see people argue semantics is because they have no good argument against the actual opposing point.
I think you're someone I mainly agree with on here so I can't speak for your semantic arguing prowess particularly, of course

Yeah, most of the time people argue semantics, they're just being ridiculous. That's why it gets a bad wrap. But when you bust out a legitimate semantic argument against someone using words willy nilly, as Akira often does, it's pretty sweet.

Oh I'll add myself to my list. I'm sure I'm not the shroomery's single smartest tho that would be absurd, aren't there tens of thousands of users here?
