Lots of pm's on sm and other things today, it isn't over, it's just a mild frost, it needs to be consistent, the internet is full of misinformation for some reason, amanita muscaria and psilocybes are a big offender for this, a lot of us sit n research, research, research, everything people say we will test to see if it's true, it seems to be quite widespread that a single frost will kill liberty caps, this really is not the case and you should still have another few weeks at least if not more, the morning sun can tell us a lot, it pummels the frost it's a very big and powerful thing, it's simply not consistently cold enough yet, at really high elevations it could stay this way but again it's doubtful, hopefully we can make it a bit easier over the coming years and get out as accurate information as possible, people are getting disheartened easily, the season has only really kicked off in the past month properly, go out n view the conditions in the next few days, if you see new fruiting it's still going, thee sheer misinformation that new hunters seem to pick up is crazy to me.
I also see a lot of people thinking because a mushroom is blue that it is active, they are mostly just stropharias in this country, washed out stropharia species, those liberty caps with blue heads, the small ones, are immature stropharias too i've watched them grow n become s. pseudocyanea, worryingly people will even just go ahead and munch away if it's blue all over, which luckily is not too bad in the UK but it's not a great practise.
Keep up the finds, don't get disheartened by a cold snap and don't always pay attention to older books because i've read a lot and it seems like they have literally just got the information from some dude in a pub then printed it as fact with no field experience of the species they're talking about, mycology needs to be as accurate as possible for everyone's safety and hopefully together we can improve upon what is wrong and help stick what is right.
Good luck and don't give up!

Those are maybe mycena ^ Gills are way too light in colour etc etc
Anyone got any tips for IDing dried libs? Im putting away all the ones all over my living room floor.
Giving them a final check before they are stored. I wont have time to get up to mushy field again this year. So much dark now. Im keeping what i have for micro dosing through the SAD symptoms.
Mostly if i have picked a wrong mushroom its been a conocybe or panaeolus and ive seen it for what it is once in my hand.
Im checking they have bruised blue around the foot and that they have dark gills as i put them in the tub. libs seem to dry in a distinctive way, tan coloured and wrinkly.
Any other tips?

inactive poisonous can stain blue blazey.. don't no how many times ive already said it
id say season is still peaking, at least here anyway - ive picked end of December before... had around 80 on a patch 2 yrs back, some of the stalks were frozen , I was snapping them - people will call bullshit no doubt like most of come out with this year apparently
several hard frosts in a row will stop the mycelium in its tracks I found , there is still plenty out there and time , trust, - as ive already said countless times. although I feel we in for a cold winter this year, last year was storm after storm which over saturated everything this time last year and it fucked with the temps if you all remember ?
misinformation... - well, ironically the users ignoring me are the ones that have given the worst advice so far...
and the fly agaric is not a true psychedelic nor classed or shouldn't be classed as an entheogenic substance , its a deliriant, for what psilocybin offers there is no need... end of really
hows that for a chip on the shoulder... ?

posted here a few years ago, thought id give it another shot. Hopefully someone will be able to help! Do these look promising before I go for more?
Dark gills, bruising around edge slightly, big nip on top, picked on south facing cow field, stream running alongside, in groups of 4 or 5 at a time.

lol I know hehe
very true trees, very true... I just try to help out as much as poss, certain things ive said made people ignore, then I notice em coming out with shit ive said, angers me.. but just wana help is all.... cant please everyone tho and rejection aint something I'm good at....
example of misinforming, is blazey encouraged and see no problem in pulling them up from the mycel root ... then he wonders why his stash aint looking so good this year, cardboard box of about a couple of hundred if that.... - I tried to inform that not good practice,it actually feels wrong when I accidently pull one up like that, and I actually apologise to it lool for doing so.. alot of disagreeing this year when has been based on observation and experience, why I can be pissy at times, ignore it,nothin about ego, its out of moral respect and understanding from point of perceptive, most of its been misunderstandings and some not talking it on the chin .
happy travels anyway

Just a little message I wanna leave for shroom enthusiasts on the topic:
Many diseases and pains that bug the hell out of you and sometimes straight up cripple you are caused by a spiritual imbalance of some kind, like a succession of past traumatic events that never got to be fully emotionally experienced and healed.
The shrooms, like meditation, allow for the ego to be put on hold giving you the opportunity to revisit the experiences that trouble you without you even being aware, and heal them. This is no joke and that's why shrooms should be used and studied for psychiatric and psychological treatment of a huge amount of traumatic experiences that are the root of so many physical diseases.
Many of you have a nice stash, consider using them to heal consciously.
Have a good one

^ I already have believe it or not cyan... but use them with 'shamanic' intentions now.
things can still genrally get on peoples wicks though, that's human nature, nothing will ever be pink fluffy buubels all the time , that's life, ive been called deluded etc, people havnt listened when they thought they had libs, people been obnoxious when you try helping or offering fair enough assumptions or ideas , theres always that underminer, I aint doing to badly at keeping my cool with certain member or two trust me..
from a warm welcome to the season from nothing warm in return can set me off for its entirety... daddy wasn't their to take me to the fun fare you see
but cheers for the wise words, will help a lot of people, as I know they do help me , just long road and support from loved ones is still needed but, check my page youll find all u need about types of things your talking about, Im tryin to encourage abit of history where entheos are concered , importaint to know what they really about and what they been used for and still get used for, instead of just 'assuming your trippin'
ha blimey fuzzy! the lib that wanted to be a snake , long grass lib?
dodog - I cant see any in ther soz , getting warmer tho , lush lookin habitat
fonzy - I see one or two, I think , but then again I'm not 100% sure so don't wana say, some like that catch me out, I think you have one or 2 2bh , also sometimes libs don't always bruise blue. takes a lot for some of them to bruise ive found

Getting trekking this large field I found. This is from 1/4 of it still got another quarter and half of another field. Hunting libs is like finding gold in the grass - its so much fun just on its own.

The haul from my last hunt

"its so much fun just on its own"
what I say too... the thrill the adventure the spirit , the air of fresh and the discovery of stumbling upon them , to then what it offers the mind, eating them is only half of the experience , generally I am in love with mutha earth, nature more so comes hibernation time from these beautiful mushrooms"!
ironicly the type of mushroom that offers the mind a type of 'divine' direct illumination and child like warmth, comes from symbiont animals most near and dear to us and used by us... cattle, sheep, horses being a few I find that to be no accident that particular active mushrooms is present there around them or apart of them aka cubensis , they want to be preserved, stored, eaten, and noticed, and why elese do they keep for such along time once dried to that golden crisp that don't de-materialize, like pine cone keeping seeds safe it does so years! , a type of wood designed to last for years, like the life force of it is very much alive, well certain mushroom , a type of flesh that keeps in the same way once preserved right , unlike a falling leaf....
-------------------- “My brother explained it very well one time he said.... Have you ever noticed , that as we build the fire of understanding brighter , the greater the volume of darkness that is revealed? Or here I’ll put it for you in geometric modal, As the sphere of understanding expands , the surface area of ignorance necessarily grows ever larger?” —-Terence McKenna
