Thanks, the one on the left didn't have much in the way of a nipple, both growing together, so am thinking it probably is. Big ones these as well

Sorry if the wrong place to ask.

But I am getting quite a batch now and I was wandering what the best way to store my mushrooms is?

I would hate for them to go off.

If they are properly dried they will keep, sealed in a clean container.

Do you guys go through each dried mushroom to clean off any dry maggots or bits of grass before storing?

I have some in a food bag with silica packets to suck out the last of the moisture after air drying, they'll go into a glass jar with more silica packets when I can be bothered to go through them all

The ones in there already I put in cap down and they all cling to each other when I try to take some out

So something awful happened today...I headed out to my "field of dreams" where last year I hit the motherload and found a ton of libs. When I got there I immediately saw loads of mushrooms, it has been raining the past few days so I knew it was a good time, as I walked there was so many mushrooms it was dificult not to step on them, but the whole field was full of these same mushrooms but nothing else??? Im broken, what has happened to all those beautiful libs? Has this new species moved in and taken over completely? I found 2 libs....2.....and about a million of these....things.....nasty little buggers. Can someone ID these please and possibly even shed some light on what may have happened here?
Thanks!

Yes I'm having some. I see what you mean though, they're becoming more sparse for me too and I was getting so distracted by the rapidly changing landscape and peregrines overhead that I didn't find any in the first hour. Eventually started to notice them after a some hashish to help keep my eyes to the ground  These fields were fruiting widespread flushes a couple weeks ago, I managed 90g from a 4 hour pick, the area had been sitting in low lying cloud and mist to help it along the way though with not much rain. Where in Ireland are you?  Just saw the forecast, heavy rain in parts tomorrow. Check it out.. All's not lost :ooo:

was a nice day to pick, found a new spot with my brother, we managed 780g odd between us and halved our team effort - wet weight btw and all in all including 2 other spots some few mile up the road was  final total

-  not bad for few hours, split the wet weight, my half shown , and was chuffed.

resting my back now, time for a spliff................ no much rain but the dew is still helping and still growing from the previous rains (other spots seem fine and hasn't rained, last I check was 3 days ago.. was a full flush near enough).. those not finding rain or no rain, look harder.

wicklow - hahshish u say.. yeh that was our flavor of the day also... cant beat nice hash

bonsiguy - I'm beginning to wonder if mycelium can trans mutate its genetics into other species when if it so wishes.. I thought that because iv seen libs in a row, then one at end of that row, that looked half liberty and something else,  then a full blow that something else that came after it... weird tho,dunno..

Found a few in Cannock chase completely unexpectedly. So they're fruiting in the Midlands i just need to find better spots!

So set on finding some cyans, one would even be enough. Cannock chase looks identical to local habitat so it's given me hope. I had read urban parks in woodchip and mulch were the best bet.  Is that what you mean by better spots?

I'm in the city centre have been going up the wicklow mountains. Gonna go up for a wander on Sat morning again and hopefully get a few more. Found about 30 last weekend and that was about it.

I am guessing you're wicklow going by the name?

A bunch of requests went unanswered yesterday - I think I got them all covered below.  It should be noted, if you guys are looking for an ID please make your own thread.  This thread is for confirmed finds.  Your ID requests will get lost and overlooked in here.

I assume these are all liberty caps?

An ID on any of these will be much appreciated.

Your first image has a few liberty caps, but also has several other species.  I have circled the liberty caps - careful out there.  Pay attention to the small details and stay safe!

Thanks everyone.

No libs at all in these photos MWStuntz.  Good luck, and keep hunting.  It would be a good idea to take another look at your identifying details before you head out bud.

Very nice haul and habitats! Ah yes I have found over the years a bubbly blonde helps me no end, the weed on the streets all have high THC content with little to no CBD and that wreaks havoc with my moods.  I do, when well smoke MJ,when the mood is right but that's rare lol.

I'll check that out thanks, was looking into cubensis but it's not possible to have such temperatures consistently at home. I guess the cyans would suit me better to grow temperature wise. Didn't know you could grow them, cheers. Happy hunting!

I apologise for quoting all separately I'm using a strange device and haven't a clue what I'm doing.

no worries, a good man that Davide Barlow, and yes is beautiful place ,Saxon settlement near where we use to live, no doubt they loved this time of year as well  ............but yeh, It did me also, that's exactly why i changed to hash...not only that, smoking it rather than weed will make it eventually easier to wean off of it completely if need be., weed takes a hold of me psychologically, once she's fully in ma blood, harder to cut down and come off of it. hash on the other hand, as u say cbd is there and is not as moreish yet it still keep the evenings mellow and easier on the well being next day...

Jimfish - na there aint no need to go thru every single one to remove grass or basidie larvae - they crawl out anyways to find moisture and eventually dry up, you could collect the larvae as they will have containing spores, next time at the patch, burry them...
just remove grass when u place them in ur container when picking , and nip them a the base rather than pull, otherwise you'll get a soily T and they may not come back to that part from the severance ..

I don't worry with silcon packets either... after fan drying I just let them sit for half hour then I wang them in a glass jar... done

Same here man, Dub to Wicklow. Weather has been very bad this year for the libs. Had a good bit of rain and cooler temps 3 weeks ago and they flourished(Curragh) but I am finding only drying/dying ones now. Plenty wet this morning and temps set to fall over the weekend so hopefully another flurry before the end of the season. Happy days :mushroom2:
