Hey all. From Devon, England. Had another look about today, but nothing. Last week however, myself and friend found some up Dartmoor. However round where I looked today, there wasn't much altitude, which many speak of and nothing.
It's been a little colder at night, we've had some rain and some sun. Nothing local that I could see.
A little disheartening, but onwards I seek. Hoping that I've not missed the season.
-------------------- Blackadder: Now, where the hell are we? George: Well, it's difficult to say, we appear to have crawled into an area marked with mushrooms. Blackadder: [patiently] What do those symbols denote? George: Pfff. That we're in a field of mushrooms? Blackadder: Lieutenant, that is a military map, it is unlikely to list interesting flora and fungi. Look at the key and you'll discover that those mushrooms aren't for picking. George: Good Lord, you're quite right sir, it says "mine". So, these mushrooms must belong to the man who made the map.

This years yield to date so far > 107gram dry powder, I've also gave my friend 10grams and we had 2 grams each at the weekend, (see previous post on page 86 for trip report )
So overall so far that's 121 grams > 4.25 ounces. i think this is my greatest yield to date all because i decided to walk the opposite direction as the spot iv been picking for the last 14 years out of curiosity last week, I feel the season has still more to offer these coming weeks.

Peace

wow some monster pylon's jesus! I read somewhere that electricity , or ya know, lightning can or does ignite mushrooms to grow...
irony is the way mycelium grows actually Falk out and resemble lightning, just like the roots of trees and their branches.... anyhow
worth checkin it out

These two are bugging me, libs or not ? They feel right, but there is no black rim on one, and the stalks seems a bit straight? They smell right, but just want to be 100% certain. They were also next to each other, so everything tells me they are...

truth in trees said: just want to thank every1 on here for all the id help and all the great info, my partner suffers from depression and just last week she hit an all time low she couldn't work she was signed off she would cry all day I felt so helpless. She said her anxiety was absolutely terrible, having panic attacks daily before work. The doctor gave her tablets which made her feel awful so she wanted to try another route. After several fruitless attempts at finding any shrooms, I went out and found 1.26 dried grams. On my arrival home it was clear that she was really suffering with her depression, the worst it has been for a long long time. I had been researching the affects of psilcybe on depression and anxiety, and after discussing this in length, she decided to see if taking mushrooms would help as she was at her wits end. To cut a long story short, her mood has been dramatically better since the start of the trip, and she is still very positive. Her anxiety levels have improved massively and she is going back to work tomorrow, even though she still has two weeks on the doctors note. In her own words she called this mushroom magic. She had never tried anything like this before. Thanks all for the support and advice.
Great news, it has been trialled for depression in London recently I think. I wish these guys all the best. It's not just the psilo, the therapy in conjunction, and the support is as important.

@SeamuShroom_92 I'm new and have almost no experience in this area but I did watch a video on youtube recently regarding drying and storing fly agarics that might be useful - - Preparing Amanita Muscaria for ingestion :-) I assume there are other methods though. Actually it was the videos he made last year with the similar title that I watched that might go into more detail if you wanna check them out.
@dicky21 Thanks Any idea what they are? Some variety of Panaelous? I'm still learning
@BonsaiGuy Thanks for the advice That weird wiggly thing was actually something attached or growing from a 'knuckle' on some tall grass/crop right next to some shrooms. It looks less thready than the mycelium that I've sometimes upearthed with the stipes, it has an almost uniform thickness, like very thin vermicelli noodles.. I was thinking of planting it to see if anything happens.
How long's a good time to wait for a second trip in people's opinions?
@PsyMindz86 I see, might give that a go. It's just annoying that there's no immediate way to know whether it's having any significant effect. I might pick a specific spot that I know's suitable for growth, distribute spores there and see how it comes up next year.
