Can I have an Id on this please, not sure if it's a lib or protostropharia semiglobata, it was found very close to some libs but lacks as distinct a nipple as I would expect.
Thanks

I'd say its a lib, give the stem a firm squeeze and see if it turns blue whilst drying

That one would would confuse me too. The gills are more level than attached way up inside the cap. Rest of it looks lib like though. protostropharia semiglobata are more elegant and straight and distanctly slimer to touch including the stipe

Thanks, It stained blue after I squeezed them stem so should I be confident it's a lib? The fact it was surrounded by other less mature libs makes me feel reasonably sure but still quite new at this.

Everything about it screams lib mate. Those wide caps always make me nervous but if you look at the robust wavy stem, the colour of the cap and gills and most especially any blueing at the roots, then bob's your teapot monkey socks

I'm thinking of heading out again around Sunday/Monday, if the fruits have regrown then would it be worth making a short YouTube video for the forum?

That sounds good man I know I would find it helpful personally, there aren't many videos for lib hunting especially the habitat

Been out on my first hunt in a couple of weeks, first few I was out for a few hours and mostly unsuccessful,  came back pessimistic and did alright for my first ever successful hunts!

This is what I got on my first day, was out for about an hour or so, managed 225 in total, got some reet big juicy bastards as well!

Then on my second day, managed to get these, managed to get ~175, cant remember exactly, well happy either way though.

If anyones interested, this is where I've been picking, theres a few patches of those spikey beige bush things, i dont know what they're called, but loads of grazed grassy patches cos there were loads of sheep here up until about a week ago which is perfect timing. It's 276m above sea level and im around rochdale/todmorden area

Hi guys how you're all finding some liberty caps now, I found a few the other day but I need a hand identifying them as in not 100% sure and it's only my second season hunting them. I found some the other week that look like traditional libs but these look slightly different but I've read that libs can come in all different shapes and sizes.

MohamedBear,

Not 100% sure about the first pic as they are very dry.

I think you've got all libs in the other pics as the stems are all the same, just that some are fresh and some not so wet.

Yeah, i usually get my libs from lawn grass where they all tend to look similar rather than the wild ones, so it can be difficult to tell.

As someone else said the lib smell is distinctive. Enjoy

I decided to take the full 2.4g last night over the course of about 2 hours, some of it was in caps and the rest was loose powder. Strangely I didn't feel or see anything even on the full dose? This has confused me a lot as I expected it to be very potent. I'm taking 150mg of Sertraline; is that likely to cause shrooms to not work?

What a difference a day makes, was lovely up the mountain yesterday and today it was quite bloody cold and I wasn't wearing warm enough clothing, my hands went numb at one point...

From trekking for miles over the past few weeks to getting out of the motor and spotting them straight away now.. Nice haul over the past two days after a few hours on the common..

Very busy with hunters about the place... :mushroom2:

Hey Man

I am from near Brighton. Have you considered the South Downs? I reckon there might be a lot up there.

I'm on 100mg sert - I miss a days tab when dosing on mushrooms.... enev when I haven't before ive been fine and the visuals always been same intensity, only thing I didn't recommend (from experience) was to not miss a few days tablets then dose, the side effects from not taking the anti D's after 2-3 days will cause unpleasant feelings , this mix with psilocin isn't good.. ...

it was more because of this though -

also its best to consume the whole amount and not spread it out over hours.... tolerance creeps in reaaal quick so u wana just consume the whole amount you weigh up...

- I did this couple years ago, spreaded a smallish dose out, I was being reluctant , why i was consuming over a few hours... didn't do much of a thing .

tolerance builds super fast... say if you were to eat 50 , you would need 100 the next day to achieve the same effect of what the 50 did..

when spacing/consuming them over few hours the tolerance is already building up you see .

no doubt il be accused of misinforming people or il need to get a source for this... but yeh, in my experience anyway so feel free to down vote me even further

either way tho regardless of what anyone thinks, bandwagons etc , I hope that clarified things
