Hey can anyone help me with this? Do these look like libs? Not too sure because the nip isn't too defined.

That said, this is all I found over one hour and I was walking around in a tee shirt which really isn't lib picking weather
Top left isn't clear but the others certainly are.

Panaeolus acuminatus, maybe another Pan as well cf. subfirmus but some Pans are a bit difficult to discern so idk. It might be worth giving us more on that but don't count on it like.

Looking at some images of Panaeolus retirugis which is a form of Panaeolus papilionaceus and not something I ever mention or really think of. Seems possible as well for the pans fwiw.

So should I leave the top ones alone?
With regards to the definite libs would you say the season is too early? I can't find anything else

You could examine them for present and future reference but I expect it isn't adding to the haul.

Hi all, this is the first time I've been confident about a find so just seeking confirmation on this pic.
What I'm more interested in though, is why this was the only one I could find in a large field - do they not usually grow in groups?
From the picture can anyone hazard a guess at whether this is just an early bloomer and I should come back in a couple of weeks? The field is sub 50m altitude and way down in the south west of the UK.

These are the little ones that I've found, not going to pick yet but what do you suggest in terms of waiting for them to grow? A couple of days, a week? Also do you think that from a little patch like this I will be able to come back and find a large patch?

Anywhere in the midlands: Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester known to fruit. Very new to this and completely clueless where to look and I'm unsure if I'm wasting my time looking for something that isn't there. Should I be looking now or do I need to leave it longer?

Now is certainly the time of year. Ideal locations are fields grazed by cattle.

and if u don't like going in fields of cattle... horses , donkeys and sheep will do.. even if the field was previously grazed , should still be worth checking out..
psytech - I feel that is not a lib dude... keep the search going - not always in groups... really depends on the mycelium..
alexa - couple of days, depends tho, coz some seem destined to not grow so big, where as others are, others will grow in groups, some in trails, or alone.. is what ive found out so far , and sometimes you'll get one that pop out to a big size straight away, well over night, several hours... where as some remain small and slow... so it depends on factors I guess.

Pickings from the last couple days :

Takeaway anyone??

Around an ounces in the bag from my main spot at the lawn (have now got a 2 ounce bag of these since that photo), the plastic container has undried pick from a field at higher elevation nearby.

The field shrooms while sorting for dryer.
