Hey folks, my two cents regarding therapeutic use... I've had success treating mild to moderate ptsd and depression with mushrooms and lsd over the last two years following a semi traumatic and joy shattering break up from my previous relationship which severed me from my two children and left me homeless, lost my house and everything I had.
It's late and I need to go to bed but my main advice would be that for therapeutic use, take some time to get to know the substance before jumping in full tilt if you can, there is no magic pill but these tools (especially psilocybin imho) are not a magic pill but if you can work with them in right way you can gain life altering insights into the causes of certain mental anguish and illness, like others have said the cures oftentimes come from the insights and changes and how you use that after the experience.
I'm happy to work with anyone via PM who has questions or would like help with therapeutic use, dose calculation and harm reduction. I would hope at least that I could assist on a personal level with anyone that is going ahead with this type of therapy and intends to do so without an experienced assistant
For myself, many years ago when I had my first experiences guidance was the catalyst between a confusing experience and a meaningful life changing one, sometimes the changes and insights aren't so obvious at the time but with some dialogue and discussion with someone who has just enough experience or knowledge to share can turn a "head melter" into a life changer so I offer my time to anyone who would appreciate unbias non-judgemental guidance in this area as it can be a bit of a puzzle especially if one takes the plunge on their own even if it just some help deciphering an experience or lending an ear.
I'm off to bed now, me and my other half have an isolation tank session tomorrow woohoo only 2nd time for me, tempted to dose around 15mg but not sure if I will hmm ....
-------------------- How I consume - Dry extract in capsules - guide with photos ! ** p. Semilanceata spore prints ** If you're waiting on a PM reply don't worry I have taken a number of prints and should have these ready this week for trades/post, if you're interested in a print PM me and I'll work through them in order I can offer prints of the early fruiting spot that seems to start in July through to mid Oct and prints from specimens in my regular spots that tend to fruit later during the regular fungi season in the UK.

There was some rain here (NE Scotland) Wed/Thur last week and that combined with some lower temps at night have brought some nice flushes on lawn grass.
I only managed to find about a dozen or so on wild pastures. I'm quite low down here altitude wise. Identifying the bigger wild ones was a bit difficult as they can vary a lot in appearance.
It's been fun finding all the local spots. It's given me something to do when getting out and about enjoying the outdoors.
I've reached my goal of getting about 200+. That's way more than I need to be honest and I'm not sure when/if I will partake in them. It's been a long time since and I'm apprehensive. I've got a job and two boys from a previous relationship and so responsibilities lay heavy on my heart.
I agree with you Repton that an experienced guide is great the first few times. They can help the whole experience flow before and after. A guide can watch over you and possibly spot if you get stuck in a thought loop, i guess someone might go tense rigid and they can help ease that.
Here are a few tips if your a noob going it alone. Not to eat a heavy meal before. A relaxed peacefull setting. Lots of soft cushions / space to lie down. It can be a powerfull body experience / breathing opens up / jelly legs and numb hands. Overly critical and logical thinking is suppressed (you might think you've turned permamently into a total dumb ass) but try to remember it is only temporary. Try and get out into nature at some point if possible. Calming soothing music can help. Integrate insights afterwards (this may take weeks/months), very personal and the guide mybe can't help you much here but a therapist may. Perhaps a medium/strong trip once or twice a year is good as a mind reset tool. (I've never tried microdosing but sounds interesting.)
It can be a beneficial life enhancing experience. If I get a bit low I just remember my first big trip and it brings a smile to my face. I just had to lie down on the floor as it was overwhelming. My last thoughts were that my mind was being rearranged by some mysterious force and I was going to die, but it was OK because we all have to die sometime right. My guide woke me up mybe a few hours later (yep, i blacked out) because he wanted to go outside. Lots of personal insights, too many to tell, but a funny moment the day after was when I was eating a banana and I felt that it and I were at one and eating myself was just plain weird.
Personally I think i have some issues with boundaries and perhaps its not the wisest thing to do taking psychedelics in my case. Used to be a chronic hash smoker and dabbled a little bit in all sorts which left me feeling a bit paranoid (but a little bit of noia is good ). Been all med/drink free these last 15 years. But liberty caps are something I'd like to do again before I die
This is seriously turning into the 2016 liberty cap psychotherapy thread.
The most simple things can bring the most happiness.

I have read a huge amount of this thread with great interest. There are certainly a load of very experienced people frequenting these forums, and there seems to be a great undercurrent of likemindedness. Many thanks to all of you who share your stories and safety guidelines.

you have about 2-3months until that happens, well if the weather remains suitable,2years ago I acquired around 80 toward end of December believe it or not, ,some of which I was snapping at the stalks, it had been that cold in the morning from night , but still plenty of time to find yourself a patch or two, first frost doesn't end it anyways, several hard frosts in a row will tho
other factors can effect the fruiting rates in season, such as frequent storms... which I had noticed last year in November, in comparison to the year before around about that same time with calm and cold autumn and early winter. it had seemed that the consistent storms last year had compromised their fruiting patterns, the rain was on and off due to the high winds, the temps were bouncing up and down, some incredibly mild for November each time a storm from the pacific hit the uk, it really did fuck with them..
but............keep searching, go out, get ''lost'', and see where the intention takes you...

The season is finally starting to kick off, as soon as I jumped the fence to get into the field I saw one staring right at me, found that pretty funny. The place I was at is pretty much at sea level in Fife. Its always easier to find them when it has been dry for afew days before, the cream coloured caps stand out so much more. Found around 80 today in 2hours, there was probably loads that I missed since the sheep have been taken away and the grass is getting pretty long which makes them harder to find. Im confident the ones on the large tray are libs. the smaller cluster im maybe 95% sure are libs although they dont have the nipple on top and the gills are slightly lighter although still brown in colour. Wondering if they are perhaps sterile ones?
Confident these are libs
Ones lacking the nipple

Also some nice bluing showing on the stem on these

I happened upon a single specimen in the south-west while walking the dog yesterday, along the verge of a sunken lane, but had no luck in the surrounding fields today. I think the one I found must have been more of a sign of things to come than anything else. The banking and hedges either side of the lane must prevent most, if not all, direct sunlight from hitting the ground, so I guess that's been keeping the temperature a fair bit lower than average. I did think it was still a bit too warm around here when I found it but I was sure enough of its identity to wonder around staring at grass for an hour or so today :P

Went on another walk today and found more than I have any other time (albeit still not many ) so heres hoping that more will crop up over the next few days and it sticks around long enough til I'm off holiday next saturday!
Confident with most of these (except 4 or 5 on the bottom right, will probably chuck them)

A few wee dry ones, could do with some more rain up here... That said some lovely beauties to keep me going!

Yeah upon closer inspection I chucked a good few that deffo weren't libs, got enough for a couple of trips so far.
Anyone in the north west, specifically greater manchester getting any good hauls in yet? It seems to have improved today compared to last week, hopefully it keeps getting better but not much seems to be cropping up in general, just wondering if anyone is in the same boat

I'm in the north west but by the Cheshire/Flintshire border. Still none here.

Update from South East England (Kent),
Today's hunt turned up 0 libs. - thinking the severe lack of rain and min night temps of ~8-10 degrees aren't helping things. What's the weather been like where you guys are successfully hunting? Rain? Heavy morning dew? Max & min temps?
