ive always just went looking at this time of year regardless to wether it has rained or not, ive always said the morning dew is a good sign though, it sort of proves the humidity is right.

My question is this: is rain necessary prior to liberty caps popping up, or is the morning dew enough for them?
I think the key point is that the soil is quite damp as thats is where the mycelium is.

morning due , yeah I agree to this.. morning due, acts like a light shower to the ground regardless...
but obviously the more moisture the better ie rain..
and so far I've noticed that sometimes later in the season,as storms pass, they can really fuck with them fruiting more due to the strange bouncing temperatures they bring with them regardless of the rain, storm despond last year ground them to a hault till it passed if I remember rightly ..

I'm looking at an altitude of 63m above sea level, day temps are around 15c and night temps around 8c. Still no action here. Would 156m under the same temps be any better?

fuzzywarble - please don't worry about altitude and sea level at this end of autumns spectrum, coz fruiting has started for the most if not all available parts of Britain where it can now ... if they not on one habitat , try another , but don't make it harder for your self by messing around with unnecessary variables..
set your intention to find them within your mind, go out n get lost- with your mobile obviously, I guarantee youll stumble on a patch, sooner or later

I've had another look today in two local fields and not found any yet. I haven't been hunting libs since around 2010 but from memory I think early November was when I usually found a few, but even then never more than 20. Shortly after people on here were saying the seasons over. Seems a very brief time frame for shrooms around my area.

Still nothing in my favourite spot in Dorset. Didn't get to the field till 4pm though not even a sniff of one. Going to try earlier tomorrow and then focus on Wiltshire where I now live. Haven't partaken of the Black Mountain crop yet. Going to microdose for a week with gf and see where that leads. If the vibe is good will get out for some serious hunting after that as temps still about 18° down south.
Anyone else having luck in Wilts? Savernake remains a no go as it's on top, but interested in luck elsewhere in the county.

First small success of the season. About 100 over 2 hours near to Bridgend up in the valley's. Very wet under foot and pretty high up so the temps must have been low enough over the last few nights. Beautiful sunny day for picking but looking at the forecast it will be a few weeks until more pop up.

Hi there,
I'm completely new to this game, I was drawn in after reading some compelling papers that suggest psilocybin has some long-term beneficial effects on people suffering from treatment-resistant depression.
Long story short I came to my wit's end after yet another antidepressant stopped working for me, I thought I'd give shrooms a go. In any case it should be interesting.
I've done a bit of homework and identified a few places nearby that should yield some results: grassy pastures (cows, sheep, horses), acidic soil (dock leaves, sorrel, nettles, thistles, all growing by the ton). But so far absolutely no luck at all. Over the last few weeks I've been out wandering many acres of fields of an evening and have only found about 4 boring little brown mushrooms (some I have identified as conocybe subovalis). Doesn't seem to matter whether it's been wet or try or both.
I'm based in Wiltshire, I'm thinking perhaps the weather hasn't been manky enough yet. But perhaps I'm just doing something fundamentally wrong. If anyone in the area would like to team up or share a pearl of wisdom then I'd be very grateful

Im working with c-ptsd and cycling mood disorder cow.
Psychadelics arent always an easy option. Its not like taking some codiene and feeling like the world is nice for a few hours. That said i do think trips bring lasting change. I have been low dosing and micro dosing mostly and have done the previous year too. I also have a therapist for support and loads of personal reading. I low dosed before a psychotherapy session the other week that was good. Ive got grows starting for when the libs die off for the year.
About your hunt, i always have luck on the moor. Away from the main fields, out of peoles way too.
Let us know how your getting on.
Oh other meds affect your dosing btw. Im too far away to join you for hunting but good luck.

Has anyone found any in the Cotswolds/Gloucestershire area yet? I've been out a few times and there is plenty of different mushrooms but no libs

Me too, the cptsd part anyway. I've found acid to stabilise my moods and rages for at least 2 weeks with little effort on my behalf, up to even a month if I put effort in. It also helps with the dissociation and panic responses, which helps as the two are linked. I'm trying to see how mushrooms will have similar effects, if at all. Going hunting at the weeke d, not found many so far but got a few confirmed spots from a month or so ago.
