Panaeolus species, not active habitat looks pretty solid though so dont give up hope

Sure, but we'd need pics to say for sure. Go back to the spot and show and tell us! With a bit of luck it could be them.

No liberties there, lots of different panaeolus species.
I went picking today and only found 2, think it's way too early, but at least I found a new spot...later on in the season I'm 99% sure it's gonna be teeming...
On the way to the spot saw a mad-eyed woman with a tesco carrier bag full of them by the side of the road, no discretion at all! Lol

Has it been slowgoing elsewhere? My usual spots have been very slow to get started, lots of rain the last few days up in North of Scotland have been very welcome though so heading out in the morning, keep tuned for more info (this post means I have to get up early now aha). Also picked a stunner of a fly agarac today, (350g). Gonna have my first go with that when some days off come up, its drying in the cool oven as I type. {please pardon the poor photo quality gotta work on that...}

fly agaric, I don't bother with them , they benefit their native trees but has anyone actually felt the true ibotanic effects? induces lucid dreams and pass out for abit, have to be with sitter apparently because a risk of choking on own vomit in this deep dream, , even if it does induce it, to much trouble/risk for what's its worth if I'm totally honest .. diliriants man, whether boil it or not, still have to take care with it ,also obvious the Vatican covering up the actual mushroom of the ancient past.

amanitas are only good if you enjoy drinking alcohol, other than that; on there own they are pretty whack but you do actually get some euphoria with that combo, maybe 7g amanita, wait 30 mins n drink a four pack, but i try not to drink these days since i was addicted for so long. they are just nice to take pictures of n that, garbage as a drug

only do 3g first n redose 3 more if u feel nothing after an hour to an hour n half, if still nothing move up to 7g the next day, trial and error, potency varies, they are not great btw, dreamlike i guess as said above, good with alcohol in tipsy doses

Or... maybe don't treat them as a drug to, 'get out ya face on'.
Do you remember, I posted this for you last year psy,
HerbBaker said: "These mushrooms have an absolutely delicious taste when properly prepared, and are one of the outstanding gourmet fungi of the world. The intensity of the flavor seems to have some correlation with the potency, so you can get an idea of the quality of the raw mushrooms by tasting a little bit. If the mushroom is strong, the meaty flavor will fill your whole mouth. Amanita muscaria seems to especially favour rich French sauces and hearty Italian ones. It can really enhance the flavor of meat dishes, even in amounts as small as a teaspoon or two, and I have used it in this way as a flavor enhancer. It is far finer than MSG. For some reason, it does not seem to go well with chile or Mexican dishes. It is also excellent in omelets and scrambled eggs. One of my favourite ways to prepare it is to sauté it with minced shallots in butter, then add a little sour cream and salt and pepper. Served over a slice of toasted French bread, it is simply wonderful! It is also superb in pastas.
Please remember not to be beguiled by the wonderful flavor and overindulge. There is a record of a man eating a hundred mushrooms at a meal and soon after going into a coma. They were able to save his life, though I honestly don't know how after such an insane overdose. Keep everybody's total intake to no more than 1 to 2 tablespoons per person. Eaten at breakfast, amanita will make everybody cheerful and energetic. Consumed in a fine dinner in the evening with a good wine, it will make people happy, talkative, sociable and relaxed. I have never seen its equal as an overall social mood-enhancer, and despite using it on many occasions, I have never had anyone report a negative experience. The only complaint I have received is from people who say they feel nothing, but even these become noticeably more cheerful and talkative."
did you get round to reading the rest of it?
Perhaps we shouldn't treat the fly agaric as a drug, to, 'get off our faces on,' but, as an addition to food, as a condiment. The post linked to above states that they have a "wonderful flavor", when prepared correctly, or can be used 'medicinally' for added vitality and tolerance to the cold that small doses can give.
In the same way that liberty caps can be used medicinally, taken in small doses to ward off SAD (winter blues) and cluster headaches, or, to "get off our faces" with larger doses for a full on trip, fly agarics can either be 'used or abused', though in the case of the lib, abuse away.

yes I do now that you said it, soz i actually treat neither as a drug to get off my face although I know your not necessarily implying us, 30 year old now hehe, not 14-21 anymore, I just meant like , for the benefit it serves to its host tree , must be more important than it is for our brains and that don't grab them all, leave at least one behind per tree otherwise they cant reproduce as well u know, but others dont, or at least for how ever more generations to come
but yeh , I remember now. cheers for the reminder.. medicine for winter blues , not disputing medical effects entirely, I mean if its beneficial to a tree in some exchange going on, why not a human? but in terms of preparation , a lot for little next do nothing that I have felt, I'm sure others have though and there maybe special combos .. with booze though, fuck that Blazey, then again wine was mentioned... can make you vomit as it is tho what I was thinking, but if we on the lines of civil mature experience rather than anything available to get 'off the face' the fair enough..also then again I'm ignorant and unclear about dosages etc., not really something I've looked up and probably will avoid experience report wise. each to their own though , but to have general consideration to the ground before hand is good to note
hazydaze - hate to be the one to give the bad news and bubble bursting but as I'm typing away already .. I don't think that is mate ^^ is it a pan species? think those grow out of dung - Panaeolus papilionaceus , googled it, that's what I first initially thought, but maybe wrong because of the lighting .....
someone else may know 100 % though

i loved lager n amanita just didn't like them much on their own really lager especially is good n btw i rarely do drugs to get out my face all the weed is medicinal for alcoholism n mental health n i also use it as a concentration tool for housework and music, mushrooms are a special occasion so i wanna be aiming pretty high when i do, i'm done with the 1 gram here n there stuff i use mushrooms as a kind of reset tool or for meditation, amanitas are the same but they are more like a party drug like alcohol is when it works it's a lean effect they both use gaba receptors

Absolutely, head above 300m. Somone told me the mushrooms on Arran have been going strong for a while. I have seen libs lower than 300m in the last week but only here and there.

This thread is not all ID requests. If someone posts their mushrooms and doesn't provide info for an ID request that's fine. If there's some clear reason to warn them about something, by all means.

Joie are you trying purposely to get on my tits? the poor bloke hasn't hunted in years , he had it down as one.. I was waiting on others, ^ as I stated , wait for others, but no one until I re mentioned it, your only in this thread joei coz asked you to do your job in an id thread, so, do your job and stop trying to be a pissy smart aleck , if we have reason to believe its not a cap then we will say, regardless on whether he or she asked or not, we are meant to be looking out for eachother ! so with that in mind, there was really no need for your 'yet again' snide remark comment..
cheers 'takinglibertycap' had thought as much, but certain 'trusted identifiers' are making me not trust my own intuition , due to their own blindness ,ego and arrogance, which is really starting to fucking grate on me.. ... so what your saying is joie , we don't say a word if a user thinks he has a liberty when its not. that's how you just put that across... its about learning about understanding them , knowledge , so we only answer request when the user asks whether is or not... ok lol.. so far you have fucked up and misjudged on 2 occasions now, how long do you plan to keep this up mate? can you actually fuck off out of here if you gunna leave us to do all the id'ing and non active spotting.... if not shut the fuck up and do ya job , your signature shows the situation , round and round in circles because your far to proud to see the important point, thankyou
anyways Hazydaze - your getting hotter in terms of habitat, keep the search going my friend ,you'll eventually stumble upon the humble ..
