Spent 4 hours searching in the same spot where I found 30+ a few days ago, found 1. Multiple frosts seem to have done them in, and more are on the way. I think that's it for my part of the Midlands this year. Those 30 were my first find after years of research and hunting though, so I enjoyed my first trip

Sadly found none this year, first time picking but started very late due to being out the country.
Better luck next time eh?

Season seems over for me in sleepy Suffolk. Last year I was picking all the way up to xmas. This year has been the worst year ever (out of the last 6 since iv'e been picking).
The season was late to start due to the long summer and seems to of finished pretty quick too. Also my spots just didn't have as much as the previous years, hows it been for the rest of the country?
When things like fungi which have been here long before plants, can't keep up with the weather you know were in trouble.

Went for a hunt today and found a fair few (over 100) which is a surprise considering we've had about 4 ground frosts. Total haul

My thoughts exactly, thought all was lost after those few days of frost and freezing cold weather, theres rain in the next few days apparently so next week I'll be out there again for the final harvest

I'd recommend a search if you've got the time, must be rather late in their season now but as stated above the higher temps seem to have brought them back. Some areas were waterlogged and thus useless but other fields were fully dry. I imagine its possible to still find singular libs around January/Febuary.

Can anyone offer a good method for storing Libs long term. Or longish.
They are dried and in a sealed tuperware box. Should I freeze them? Put them in the fridge? Or does that damage them? Should I just leave them in the box at room temp?
Thanks very much.
100g here and I don't even eat them anymore - send a message if you need help

Freezing works fine. Don't know about the fridge, that is usually quite humid.
Else it is most important that they're not exposed to direct sunlight, and kept in a more or less airtight container.
I have stored dried libs in zip-lock bags in my closet for a long long time, still being potent after several years.
