Didn't think so.

Here's that one from earlier drying with other libs. I'm 100% sure it's a lib now so keeping it...

And here's a shot from earlier but in better focus...

Happy shrooming all!

For anyone interested. There is an half hour long discussion on fungus, including the sybiotic relationship that most plants form with them.
BBC radio 4, the life scientific, at 9 o'clock this morning.

On the same station at 11 o'clock, there's an half hour discussion on the fly agaric.

nice one !

really fascinating stuff and 2bh angry that its not taught in biology in middle schools, high school, - talk about purposely dumb shit down so kids act stupid and consumerable etc, many that don't know this just like I didn't, the fact types of fungi plays in crucial roles in the interconnectedness of nearly all living systems, almost like a life line to some species of plant, tree, as in without it, it would cease to be... ... fungi more animal that plant is that right? like  a central nervous system in its own but yet apart of entirety

:sunny:  :earth:  :snowflake:  :rose:  :sporedrop:  :buddha2:  ...

Does anybody have tales of being 'caught' whilst hunting?
I just got my first ever telling off whilst picking, it happened due to the land which I was on rather than what I was doing though. Turns out one of my best fields belongs to a local wealthy estate and is 100% private; despite the gate being open and no signage of privacy anywhere.
Luckily it was just two groundsman who stopped me whilst he was driving a land rover through the field for refilling pheasants feeding barrels, he was actually alright with me and even knew what I was doing.
Got asked why I was there and told them its labeled as a public park on Google Maps (which it is,but its obviously wrong) which he'd never heard of before.
Then he said "what are you doing anyway? Picking the magic mushrooms?"
I was crouched down right next to a major flush when he spotted me and as he seemed OK I admitted that I was indeed looking at the mushrooms, but had not picked any (this was also true as I was caught before even opening a carrier bag). He then advised me on the directions towards fields where I can openly walk without trespassing.
I was apologetic and thankful to him, and greatly relieved that he didn't just grab me and phone the police there and then.

- lastnights haul..

yes, me Saturday night fuzzy... horsy lady and pals came out with their torches bout 1am in the morning, to do their nightly check around the place, when it came to me hiding , I was inside a place that was trip wired lol, which sends a text to her phone, - so she says, that's how che know I was hiding in a barn full of hay bails, traktors and donkeys the other end.. I hid myself but forgetting to hide my bag , we spooked eachother, she told me to leave, we chat on the way out about the mushroom itself and why I am here etc. she was cool about it , but just worried for the insurance costs if anything happened... - not that I use fields where horses are in anyways.

got caught few weeks back in the day on a patch, these ones were fine with me being on the field, as they say I do their horses a favor lol

but thing to do is be upfront and honest with what you are doing, there'd rather know your foraging for autumn fruit than they would a thief in the night or some poacher scout in the day... thed never call police as its in the middle of no where, so be upfront,as u were..  nothing to hide, as innocent as picking berries if u ask me m8

my brother got caught with his gal other day on an estate, his loooorrrddship lol said , carry on .. and actually seemed happy two people out in nature doing something peaceful as appose to being in a bar , noisy bar kicking up a steam over a footy match.. u get me drift

I got caught on land i didnt realise was private last week.
He pulled out a badge of the sorts and said he has another job (policeman) with me stood with an envelope full of shrooms and told me what i was doing was illegal to which i responded "im not harming anyone" and then basically i just fucking left.. he didnt arrest me but im dubious as to whether he was a cop or not... but yeah thats my story

whats appnin there bugly ? ? ^ apart from growing cubes hehe

a good thing to do by the way, is with those mushrooms that are self destructing, slimy and on their way out, you ought to stand on them, thel love u for it when comes next year, spores will cover bottom of your boots, choose a patch where they lacking , foot prints = spore prints, will help them closer into the ground.

seen people talking about certain faces on a field... never restrict yourselves to one side or a certain face of the field.... not sure who invented that advice, but its bad, when I first started out I was doing just this, then I thought id take a wonder to the opposite faces, instinctively following the mycelia tracks like lightning shaped arteries and veins and ended up taking me to a load more to that side than there was the other side , as well as its center, they will occupy where ever they can, after this I binned that advice completely few years back. Sfacing this n that,ra ra ra, bollacks.. use your own intuitiveness, and initiative, go with flow and explore an entire proximity and center of it......and finally , neither does 'how many meters above sea level matter when season is in full swing for all of the country.. only really applies at the very beginning of august/September and the end of December, for example, further north the higher up the more bonus it has in late July as appose to the south of the country, but yet ends earlier compared to somewhere like south west or east of the country ... so higher the better at the very very start of a season - but its not really official as its only one part of the country... so don't worry about elevation , just making it complicated for yourselves ..

cheers

If you want to spread spores try wiping the ring of spores, just under the cap, and put your now spore laden finger into or over an open water bottle (500ml) and shaking as if to rinse them off into the water.  A couple or so would probably be enough to produce a spore rich bottle of water that you can use to 'annoint' either, the area you have just picked from, or, other areas that you can imagine libs growing. Just loosen the cap on the bottle enough to allow it to drip water. Each drop could contain thousands+. You could just chuck a whole mushroom in there, but that would not be as stealthy.  Or:

You could put a few handfuls of your dried mushrooms into tupperware type container and shake it. When you tip the mushrooms out of the box you will be left with a bunch of 'dust', made up of spores and gill fragments, rinse them out and decant into a 1L bottle, this can be you 'mother load' which you can dilute 1-10 into 500ml bottles.

Wow lovely handful of magic! Nice one.

I'm thinking of risking a bollocking at work and going to my spot at lunch time. Will be a 3 hr round trip of trains and busses but I think I can do it!

nice tips their deuce , cheers.. I'm going to do that near end of the season so,ina few week depending on weather, so that next year there may be new generations in the places inoculated, infact il spend a good few days doing just that, will place a hundred or so more in a bottle , shake the living shit out of it, - u think it would work well in a mist spray? ... - spread mushroom magic all over the place lol...

I would say do it Darrius, don't wana leave flushes hanging around for too long , only so much water they can hold before they atomically self destruct like the lil Shiva's they end up being lol, if been raining loads anyways esp
