My outdoor contam cakes won't grow!!

So I got like 10 contam cakes that I sliced in thirds and layer out in a flat layer on top of some coir and verm. Then sprinkled coir verm on top. Been watering really well. It's %90 or higher humidity every day and 80-90 degrees. Been 2 1/2 weeks with no pins. Any ideas? Cakes look like this now...

Crumble and mix with soil and Hope for something.
Once the humidity drops might help too

Thanks. Will do. I also just read to put them 6" under. I just had them pretty much on top. I thought high humidity was optimal. I'm in central Illinois, if that makes any difference

Humidity is very important, just not the way you think. It has to be humid 90-99% less than a half inch from the surface that makes pins.
The air can be as low as 50% before shrooms get cracked caps and shown signs of low humidity. Air humidity being lower means water evaporates faster from the surface means more humidity at the surface for pin formation. 6 inches sounds a little deep but try different things.

Hmm that's interesting. It definitely looks fucked up. Like a cake of concrete. Luckily they weren't opened inside. Different method next time for sure. It's almost been 3weeks, so it's probably no go

It will take time for cakes to fruit outside. Don't be surpised if you don't see shrooms until next year. When you throw something contaminated outside, you don't wait for it to fruit, that will drive you nuts. If it fruits, it fruits, if it doesn't, fuck it. It's possible for really badly contaminated subs to not fruit at all outside.
Make more indoor grows if you want shrooms, chances are that those cakes will not fruit until you stop thinking about them
