Too early surely?! [Scotland, UK]

So I went hunting last October for shrooms in Scotland for the first time. Went completely inexperienced and on my own, but had done enough studying online and got the practical knack of identifying what was a liberty cap and what wasn't.
So today I was strolling through a field on the way to a supermarket and stumbled across what appeared to be liberty caps but none of them had any nipples. The stems also appeared a lot firmer than liberty caps, they snapped often when picking them, instead of coming straight out the ground.
I understand this is way too early in the year for them to be sprouting, but they were strictly on the west side of the field right on the margin where tall grass meets short cut grass (shaded from the sun).
I'm wondering if these shrooms are related to liberty caps in anyway. Would kindly appreciate any knowledgable contributions to help identify what type of mushrooms these are.
Habitat: Grassy Field - no sheep. On west side, on a margin where tall grass meets short cut grass.
Gills: Browny, not purpley/brown like liberty caps.
Stem: 1.5"-3" (2" average), similar diameter to liberty caps. Creamy brown colour. Firmer than liberty caps (can easily snap them and when picking they snapped alot compared to the ease of pulling out liberty caps straight from ground) Not slimy.
Cap: Similar to liberty caps but no nipples. A few perfectly rounded ones, which remains quite suspicious
Spore print color: Appears to be black.
Bruising: Brown bruising instead of blue.
