Vehicle and phone, probably, if you weren't using them to traffic.
Cash, it depends on if you can prove how you made it, if you just cashed your paycheck and can prove it you should get it back, but if you can't prove it wasn't money made from selling drugs, or money for buying drugs then probably not.
Get a lawyer and check into treatment.
That's your best shot.

OK so I think you should be fine, well as fine as you can be given the situation.
I bet you can swing some probation from this, might be a lot of probation though, but I don't know shit about penalties in NE, USA states, also as I stated above, you will probably have some drug classes/counseling to complete, fines.
You're married, and have kids, most courts will not want to break apart families if the charges are not violent, or placing your family in danger. Do you have people that can be character witnesses for you? If so, humble yourself and ask for their help.
Also, you could always say you have struggled with drugs, and feel like treatment would be beneficial, this way you might not have to do any time in jail, but might be in a drug treatment center, again I am no lawyer and don't know, but maybe can help ease your mind a bit, because when facing serious charges, shit gets rather stressful.
I don't think you will go to prison.

There was this video here somewhere, this lecture of a law professor I'd recommend watching too... It's about how best to behave when ur caught. I can't find it though. Anyone knows the thread?

this lawyer lecturing is probably what youre talking about. It can be summed up pretty easily though- dont speak to the police, get a lawyer.

This video is about not talking to the police, perhaps what you're talking about?

I don't have any advice besides what has already been offered: lawyer up immediately. Don't flee. Don't just sit there & let shit happen; be as proactive as possible. I hope your kids weren't there when you got popped. Sorry to hear this is happening in your life, OP, best of luck to you.

Okay, last one was a joke. Jokes aside, I wish you well OP. You seem like a decent poster.
Hopefully you can get involved in some kind of drug court thing rather than getting a bunch of jail time. If you do manage to avoid jail time, you need to be very serious about not fucking up while on it. That honestly means going through your probation sober, and staying out of the hands of the law for the whole time. Talk to a lawyer man.

I meant leaving the country. Hes facing at least 25 years behind bars. Why own up to anything. The systems fucked for even bringing these charges against him. Bail to somewhere unfriendly to America like Cuba and give them the biggest fuck you possible.

He's not going to see any 25 years of prison. A couple years, maybe, but possibly not even that. Stop trying to terrify the guy. I've known a guy who got 13 years on first degree murder charges. No disrespect meant, but given your Canadian nationality, you're probably in a bad position to speculate on what's going to happen to OP. Not that most of us know any better; that's why his best bet is to pony up for a good lawyer. Fleeing is just dumb, though.

Your van and cash are gone. You might be able to get your phone back, try calling the police station. In the meantime try and contact a lawyer. It's not the end of the world, but you might have to do some jail time over this. One piece of advice I will give you is no matter what happens, don't take it to trial.

I think he has a good chance to see a probation sentence, possibly a few years in the hole at most.
Found this on a site about michigan drug laws:
Quote:
Michigan Possession Penalties – First Offense
If you have never been convicted of similar drug charges before, a judge will likely suspend your sentence for a term of probation. However, if you violate the terms of probation your sentence will be immediately activated.
http://www.mymichigandefenselawyer.com/michigan-criminal-laws/michigan-drug-laws/
That's not a super valid source or anything, but might be a good sign. It says second offenses are treated extremely harsh though. Seeing as he is not a resident of Michigan, I doubt he has a previous conviction in the state.

He does have a previous drug charge, though. He didnt give specifics on that either, whether it was misdemeanor possession or something bigger. There may be a bit of time involved, but nowhere near 25 years.
OP, we'd still like to know how you got caught. That kind of thing is important to share so that others can learn from your mistakes.

Be honest with your lawyer. Ask him everything you are unsure about. Do not speak to the cops any more (if you have a all) without asking your lawyer what is ok to say.
They should know what will be incriminating and what will make you look better in the eyes of the law.
