growkit problems

Hi everyone,
I have recently grown mushrooms with a growkit, I dried everything and then froze it, the dried harvest was about 100 grams. Then one day 3 of my friends wanted to take some shrooms, I weighed out the portions but I noticed the mushrooms were very heavy, so each of my friends took about 6 grams on an empty stomach. Unfortunately they had little to no effects.
Later I took about 15 grams of the shrooms with me to a music festival, but the day after I took them out of the freezer, they turned black and felt really soggy. I froze them in again after the music festival.
Does anyone know what's wrong with my shrooms? I'm afraid I didn't dry them properly. Would I be able to unfreeze them and then dry them again and then refreeze them? I'm planning on trying a way bigger dose soon. Would I still be able to eat the shrooms that turned black?
Thanks!!!!

You didn't fully dry them out. I don't think there is any saving them at this point. You ruined your hard earned fruits by being cheap and not using a food dehydrator.

They were not fully dry before you froze them.
Why did you freeze them? If they are dry there is no need to freeze.
Next time place a box fan on its "back" so it's pointing toward the ceiling. You'll have to elevate it slightly off the ground to get good air flow. Put some window screen over it then the fresh mushrooms on top. Turn the mushrooms every 8 hours. After about 2 days place them in a small tote with some desiccant to fully dry. After 24-48 hours they will be "cracker" dry.
I would not recommend eating the rotten mushrooms.

Shit, I would eat rotten mushrooms before I even attempt to dry fruits the way you described. That shit is even worse than desiccant dehydration.
Use a food dehydrator or an oven to dry your fruits, no buts or ifs, if you actually want to get high that is.

I have a food dehydrator now but I used a fan to dry my mushrooms for a long time and had no issues with potency. Instead of placing them on a fan I put them on a piece of paper and pointed a fan at them.
If you really want to get into this hobby get a food dehydrator it saves tons of time and is easier but if you are not growing a lot you really do not need one.

A fan can only dry your mushrooms to the Rh level. It will only ever get it proper cracker dry if you live in near desert conditions. Definitely not something you can count on, especially from place to place.
An oven is a hundred times better and faster anyway. Gets it done fast and gets it done properly.

so much of this can be prevented with a ~$30 investment in a dehydrator seems like less of a problem than having a bunch of nasty rotten fruits.
