    #23422275 - 07/08/16 03:11 AM (7 years, 6 months ago)

With all my heart, with the window down, loud enough for them to hear me.

Must feel good for them.

Love is just a toy I play with I'm so full of it.

sounds like a waste of energy man. Focus all that love within.:highdog:

'Love is never wasted. Love Can never be wasted, For love is Infinity's Life' ~Sri Chinmoy

'It is possible to live twenty-four hours a day in a state of love. Every movement, every glance, every thought, and every word can be infused with love.'
-Thich Nhat Hanh

'True love, the kind that [ I searched for it, best I can remember is close to purifies and awakens ] purifies and awakens is the love we give, not the love we receive.' -Amma

'As you perform good actions selflessly, true love will blossom, which will purify our emotional mind.' - Amma

'Where there is true love, anything is effortless.' - ''

'But if you treat him as if he were what he ought to be and could be, he will become what he ought and could be.' - J.W. von Goethe

last but not least. .

'To say that I am made in the image of God is to say that love is the reason for my existence, for God is love. Love is my true identity. Selflessness is my true self. Love is my true character. Love is my name.' -Thomas Merton

:heartpump:

i personally wouldn't / do not / drive cars very often - hardly at all,  (in answer to your question)

almost never - it, and a couple other things, are my practice for earth and her species..

it's very good, i am just a single person but each of us . . well, there is a lot of spiritual power within , which it is possible to attain

-- and, any time i get a glimpse, i realize love and wisdom are the only goal --

Spiritual practice is the only true wealth of this world -- Amma

'Or lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys...'

etc... anyway, ramble over. . . no much pride here, nor exceptional certitude in my humility -- but a lot of love, self-faith, peace, yes.

i do my best ..!

love and peace beforethedawn -- ttyl :earth:

Love can be defined as "to fear the loss of" and we kill or run from the things that we fear by nature. Love is not what it is made out to seem like, as God is not love and happiness but strength and acceptance

haha i understand man, you should just write fewer and longer posts; just break your sentences into paragraphs now and then, and if they're too small you can add some together... best of luck and good as always to see you.

Spiritual power is about as good as no power for all the good it does.

Ask love is often incredibly naive.

Thanatos, bro

You're looking at thread with three pictures

They are all the same person

How?

Obviously reality is imagination/consciousness itself.

Well not exactly. Real, objective reality will always be beyond the scope of anything to understand. So we settle for a constructed version of it.

That sounds sort of right actually.

The difference between what the brain constructs and what the world is the focus of our attention though... what is the difference between inner and outer?

Something to ponder on, especially if the constructions come in ordered levels of varying beauty.

Irrelevant. In the end people live in their own worlds. I mean we can even prove things to be real.

But like I said, it doesn't matter.

There's a quote about that in Dune somewhere

found it

“Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.”

Saying "I love you" to every car you drive past is easy.

Saying "I love you" to the people in every car is more difficult.

Yeah, right...

If beauty doesn't matter to you I'm going to suggest extreme doses of antidepressants or some manner of an attempt at brain regeneration.

Life is overwhelming. If you do not find it so, you are deep in pathology.

Or not. Again you are speaking from your own view point and trying to project it as objective fact. Life is what you make of it, beauty is subjective. But I would say it isn't important. Because in the end we all die, and he world still turns.

I don't get hung up in fleeting concepts like beauty.

Giftin out love missiles with the sky sockets of your eyes, sometimes it takes some extreme measures to know what we need to realize.

But hey, you know sometimes gentle methods work too. Not everyone needs a deep peering into their soul from a new person. And some people do. All I'm sayin is, use your judgment on that one, a little brevity helps clear the air too, y'know? :peace:

You posting about expressing love in words, but with a straight face seems to suggest that you have awareness that the rigid physical body is the prison bar hindering your expressiveness of truth.

I think changing the world (at least for oneself which is ultimately all), involves gliding through the bars with a whispful spirit that knows ultimately that the other side (of the bars) is already the place where they truly are.

Once that is achieved, the rigid avatar is a lesser concern and becomes a lot more pliable in life and cooperative to all and oneself.

"Love" is such a loaded word and means so many things.

(Sanskrit has 96 words for "love"; ancient Persian has 80)

How about feeling compassion for all of humanity?

I used to scoff at the idea I could feel compassion for everyone.

Even if we accept we can feel compassion for everyone, we often don't want to.

Witnessing the interconnection of life forms, as a seamless whole, makes it difficult to exclude compassion from any one part. How can one not have compassion for their self?

Our shame and self-loathing inhibit our ability to be compassionate to our self.

A valid observation

Generally my compassion is tempered by the knowledge of impermanence of pain, the omnipotence of worldly ignorance / corruption, and the experience in permanence of self.
In other words... anyone living in this world is severely flawed, all pain one experiences is limited to this life, and this life is one of many.

So there seems little reason to be overly sentimental in compassion "The wise grieve neither for the living, nor the dead". One's compassion towards their children is not diminished by dishing out discipline as needed, there must be a degree of emotional callous / detachment to handle this world.

Compassion to me, is goodwill
Yet while I may have spiritual goodwill towards any being, innately
That might not extend to goodwill in this lifetime
For say, Ted Bundy
Or more practically, for someone who has crossed me

Yes, compassion to me is to wish others goodwill, and offer my loving-kindness.

To have compassion for those who do great harm is challenging but possible, as to withhold
one's goodwill towards some people only closes our own heart, and makes these people into
our enemy, instead of connecting with their humanity.

If we only have compassion for certain people, we live in a constant state of judgment,
always in the business of deciding who gets our love and who doesn't.

I don't want that job.

Personally I have no problem discriminating between people
Old friends have become enemies, because they stole from me
If I caught one of them in my house again, I would have no problem ending their life

All matter is living and conscious, as far as I understand
We breathe and microorganisms die
We walk and crush plants beneath our feet
Our skin absorbs, our blood wrestles with viruses and infections
Our food is living: animals, plants and insects

This is just the nature of the world
I think there is release in accepting that

That you would kill someone for stealing your possessions reflects your values.

Many people value material objects more than life.

We create "enemies". We blame our anger on our enemies, but that's a cop out.

If your wife or child stole from you, would you kill them?

Anger is a transitory emotion, there's no need to blame anything for it
I just experience it and let it past, moderate my actions

If I catch someone breaking into my house, they've forfeited their life by threatening mine
That's not a problem for me, just a situation to be dealt with

They'll be fine in a spiritual sense
If I was a materialist and thought they would cease to exist upon dying  that would be their problem

Honestly I don't see the hangup
Regarding family, there's other ways to deal with that
A roommate stole weed from me so I confronted him and took it back, no big deal
He missed some sessions

You must not follow the news. You don't notice the anger based violence around the world?

I "blame" nothing. Anger has it's roots. Ask someone whose loved one was killed by road rage.

"Transitory" wouldn't be part of their reply. Adult anger is just like a child's temper tantrum.

I think you're confusing the options one has available  (violence)

With the actions one takes  (ethics)

Anger exists for a reason, to be used for your benefit

It's a common notion that anger is a catalyst for growth and change.

Many people believe that anger fuels progress (for example angry protesters).

Anger is an option.          Anger, at it's core, is pure ego.

Although it wants to hide, nothing reveals our ego like anger. Anger is our teacher.

This is all assuming you find the idea of ego compelling

The ego is what it is

Anger is a catalyst for keeping bears from eating you

When people kill due to road rage, they're not in fear of their life.
