Yeah, I cant see the pics after the flame device till Amanita tuza.
I agree that the thermal mass has to be 'paid'initially. This is the fact that heat flows through the metal (conducts) and that is the path it will take. This CAN be mitigated by insulating the outside of the cylindrical surface so that in the case of batch production, this heat that was 'paid already' does not need to be repaid.
I also think that if the process can be such that everything is loaded inside, and the water added last, it can be heated water from a water heater and this will move things along. Not sure what the turn around time between batches will be. Having two baskets would be nice.
I would like to see video of the first start up tests.

If it's 15 PSI, its about what most turbo cars run. Very much different than 30 PSI. Really, 30 PSI is just a tire...hmmm, I am wondering if process engineers might do the following...
Why not fill the material under process, and then add boiling water into a trough, seal unit, and inject pressurized air and possibly steam. The main issue is that it might blow all the wood chips about....
Basically, the goal is a pressure level at a temp for a duration?

...the inside of the cylinder might actually be thermally isolated (coated) but not the bottom, maybe the end coated doors only?. Basically' You are making steam, and steam will make pressure.
To get a through-metal reading (really the temp of the interior metal surface), You would want to read through a higher area on the cylinder that is only impacted by steam.
