I've been a cultivator for about 4 years, only with a 6 mo. absence recently. Syringes sat around room temp for 3 mo., but I read on this site, that that's not a terrible thing (RR's comments).
Any ideas with why 3 would show growth and none others yet? Obviously they're not bunk syringes if they're growing, but 3? I used .5cc in each qt jar.
Any ideas/advice is much appreciated or any experience with this similar situation. Thanks. All other jars still look fine w/no obvious contams as of yet. I've proabably grown 30 times from start to finish, so if you're thinking of tips on how to prep WBS, I need more than that. Thank you guys!

Makes sense to me live spores like to cump together. My guess is that they just cump together while waited 6 months. So there still alive but sink down so even if you shout 5 mls of spores you might only get a few spores not thrown together.

Thanks for the response. So, what about me shaking the syringes WELL before inoculating? I made sure to visibly see the black spores separate, unless they really clump together at a microscopic level, where despite appearances. they really only would knock up a few.
Also, I have some 6 month old syringes still lying around. How would I get them to break up and not have a repeat?

I shake the shit out of mine that are year ago. Then hold them needle faceing up for two mins so visble cumps fall down to rubber grip then shake again and hit a few time against a sold chair or counter. The other jars still might still grow give it another month then toss them and start again.

Pull air through an open flame into the syringe. That way you have an air bubble to use to break up the spores with a shake or 2.
-heat the needle red hot -spit out a drop of solution -put the needle tip back into the flame and suck in air through the fire
=clean air bubble

Thanks for the info. The good news is that the syringes come with air already in them. Or at least a bubble for shaking. I did see that much of the spores were missing from the remainder of the 2 syringes, so the spores definitely went into the jars. If so, would a lot more spores make the jars colonize quicker, despite being in .5cc injected amount? Or would the water amount change how fast the myc covered the WBS? Hope this question makes sense.

So, I have these same 24 jars that only 4 (now) have started colonizing @ 2.5 weeks after using 2 of the 6 month old syringes @ .5cc/qt.
My question is: Is it ok if I inoculate the uncolonized jars (it's been over 3.5 weeks) with a different strain from a new syringe? Or do I have to throw them out? They show no signs of contams. Well, a couple did, but I trowed dem out.

Depends if its worth it to make new ones. Cost wise the grains the same. But grains dry out slowly even in jars. If you have the time and resources throw out. If your busy like me give it a go.
