All American parts suitable for Fillery Cooker?
    #23421574 - 07/07/16 09:20 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

I recently scored this Fillery pressure cooker for about US$70.
Now I wonder if the clamp bolts and bakelite knobs are the same as All American parts.
One of the bolts got a damaged thread and I like to replace it
eventually. It's still ok for now though.

Also in the manual the pressure is referred to as "lbs"....thats the same as "psi", right?

Cheers!

Not sure about the interchangeable parts, but yes the lbs is the same as psi on a PC. Psi=pounds per square inch.

Not the same parts. I broke my dads pressure cooker when i was 12 by changing out the parts wrong. Remember to lube it between runs

How bad are the threads? Might be able to file it out.

its only one of the bolts that is a bit doggy.
approx. 1/3 of the thread on this is buggered,
the rest of it is ok.

I took some measures of the bolt (metric only sorry),
some might be out by a fraction but haven't had a caliper handy.
Would be awesome if someone could check if they are different
to AA equivalent:

over all length:                  45mm

thread length:                    25mm

length thicker part of bolt:      20mm

diameter thread:                  ~9mm

diameter thicker part of bolt:  ~12.5mm

diameter clamp bolt pin:          ~4.5mm

distance bottom of bolt to middle of clamp bolt pin: ~7mm

Pic with measurments:

If it isn't replaceable through parts from a different PC, you could always take the bolt to a machine shop and have them thread one to spec for you. Might cost $20-30 or whatever they charge these days.

Looks like it's the same size as the bolts on both of my AA sterilizers.

On my AA941 got 9.25mm thread width and 45.40 length. I'm willing to be AA parts will work.

Oh cool, thanks, that's great. So i might order a bolt and knob from AA.
That will be less of a hassle then finding a person to make one for me.
