Uhhh bad energy rooms. I find alot are just strong human emotional charges that are left imprinted into physical spaces too like others have mentioned. I can hear and feel if there's dead around but I hardly ever see them until they visit in my dreams.
Cleansing is best for imprints. But some are harder to deal with than others. More thicker air or something.
At my current residence, my friend committed suicide last year upstairs and we live in the basement. I can still feel some sad energy from him but he's not here. His wife's aggressive energy still lingers tho, but she is still alive. We think she drove him, along with stress, to take his life.
Have you done anything about the room since hearing about the suicide?

Smudge that room dude, get you a good smudge stick and go to town with it.
White sage smell great, well to me at least, and I use it for many reasons.

From my house? Sometimes. I was worried it was going to grow thicker or something. But alot went with his wife when she moved and I'm sure it's only a little in the spot my friend killed himself. I can feel it a bit but it's not as strong. Like a light sadness. He didn't really think about suicide for a while and he got drunk one night and decided to play Russian roulette, but he was def feeling depressed. Your space the person was probably feeling extreme for awhile before he did, so it could be alot stronger.
I haven't tried to do some sort of cleansing with it tho in the basement. I can't get to the house bc they're new owners now. But the basement is pretty clear. But sometimes I feel like being around the energy makes me sad. Like I'll be happy coming home and right when I'm here there's a slight heaviness on my emotions. Its nothing major but it's detectable. We're moving soon tho.
Have you gotten any sad feelings being around the energy in the room? Or just the apparent danger feeling.

i rented a 3 bedroom house once, with 2 rooms up front sharing a bathroom and a "master" sweet in the back with it's own bathroom. that back room was jacked, it had a back door to the yard that had like 6 locks on it and the frame was all messed up from getting kicked in.
before we cleansed the space and filled it with our energy the house was ominous, the ac would make strange rattles.
after some good vibes rolling and the sage action it went away. with continues to be the space where weird shit would happen. had a couple living with me that broke up,. one moved into that back room, the other one night went ape shit over some slut activity and smashed the laptop, threw the couch and bike in the pool ect. was pretty strange times with strange people.
bunch of losers, glad it was been years and years since seeing those users.

When I was particularly paranoid about spirits and demonic entities, when I had the demonic dreams as well, I'd sometimes get horrible feelings of dread and fear. It felt that something was watching me and close-by and a horrible smell would come out of no where. It would happen random and change in intensity/duration.
But, it stopped when I learned to deal with it, tell the evil spirit to fuck off and think positive Nevertheless, it is a very weird feeling.

I don't know if you have a witch shop near you or some spirituality store. But they usually have these sage bundles where you light the ends of them and put out the flame like incense and go around pushing the sage smoke into all corners and around the room. Also you could do a salt cleanse kind of the same way. The best is manifesting the energy into positive energy. Since energy can never be destroyed just changed. Think scientifically spiritualism.
You could also learn to energy shield for yourself if it affects you too much.
I can't really explain much now bc I'm just on a short break from work. I know Acaterpillar and Asante probably know much more techniques of this than I do.

You could seek out an elder to help you. They can act as a candelight in this shadowy world that is hard to perceive.
Do you have any preference to a spiritual tradition? Like Pagan, Native American, Abrahamic, or Eastern?

If you feel something in a room, most likely it is haunted. I stayed in my friends basement In CO springs, and in the morning I told him that i felt chills and realized the room had some energy.
He told me the room was haunted--someone had killed two children in it years before.
They had it worked and he says now it is ok.
But the important thing--you have more energy than something that has passed. But if you have any fear, you have less. You must laugh at the face of death in order to conquer your fear--if you have already faced death, and are dead, you have nothing to lose.
I always think this way. Its a way of thinking I garnered after some really hard core, mind blowing trips on 2C-E, 4-aco-dmt, mescaline, and 2C-P (along with healthy doses of synthetic cannabis)
You should always analyze a room or place you enter. if you notice, some places you will sit at, you won't be able to concentrate. Avoid these places. You want to find the places in a room where you sit or lay down and are perfectly relaxed and able to focus your thoughts on anything you want.
This is a major cause of bad trips. If you sit or lay in a negative place you will get very anxious. Avoid these places.
Realize that whether tripping or straight these points on the earth exist. Then you can always find the optimal place for your existence.
What will happen when you are tripping is when you find a place of optimal energy, you will feel euphoric, energized, and in complete control. If you get on a negative place, you will fidget, feel anxious, worry, etc.
An example from the real world: When you go to a job interview, find the power spot for yourself. If you do, your words and actions will flow and the person will be impressed. Sit at the wrong place, and you will fail miserably.
One of the strangest places I ever tripped in was this little park near my room when I was in grad school. I tripped hard on 2C-E a couple of times, and went there, each time i had this thought: "You are living in the land of the dead" Everything was like frozen, and completely without life. but i felt at ease. it happened 2 times in the same place.
There are lots of places like this. Just realize it and let if flow.
