Help ID Possible Panaeolus Shrooms
    #23417081 - 07/06/16 02:08 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

I found these in a pasture, all growing on cow dung. I live in Colorado and there aren't many active mushrooms around where I live. I've heard some people say that the shrooms in the pasture are psychedelic however it's just hearsay. Any help in identifying these would be greatly appreciated!I suspect that they are Panaeolus however I don't know if they're active or not.

Gills:
Black and Brown (see pictures)

Stem:
Hollow, relatively thin

Spore print color:
Spores appear to be jet black

Bruising:
Some of them bruise dark blackish (maybe blue)

If these are in fact not active, any advice on finding active shrooms in Colorado praries? If none of these are active it may be a lost cause because I spent a lot of time going through fields and these seemed to be the only potentially active shrooms.

Most, if not all, are Panaeolus papilionaceus.

Thanks for the really fast reply. Bummer they're not active though...guess i'll have to look into growing cubes or something at home.
