Foul odor coming from spore syringe.... (questions)

This is my first attempt at growing my own mushrooms, so please excuse me if I am not all that knowledgeable (though I have been reading/researching as much as I possibly can).
Here's the thing, I inoculated 10 or so jars with the Cambodian strain, they all seem to be colonizing just fine. Today marks one week and some of them are about half way colonized. I also inoculated about 8 jars with the albino penis envy strain. Some of those jars have no noticeable growth at all, while others have very small 1/4" circles beginning to form. The penis envy syringe had a funky scent coming from it. Almost like sweaty shoes... I don't know if a scent like that is common or if that's an indication that something is wrong? I'm guessing that something went wrong somewhere along the way and that's why those jars don't seem to be colonizing. Am I being impatient based on the growth that I see with the Cambodian jars? Would these jars be considered contaminated? I have other strains, I could re-inoculate the jars that have zero growth... good idea/bad idea?
Replies appreciated. And again, apologies for my ignorance on the subject.

The APE syringe likely had bacteria in it. I don't ever recommend inoculating grains with PE or APE spores because of their increased chances of contamination, due to how the spores are collected.
I struggled with my APE syringe, wasted the whole thing on grain jars before I finally gave up due to the bacteria and started using agar. I only had a couple drops left by that point. Needless to say, it worked out. Had a clean culture within a week and still have APE kicking around in my culture fridge 2 years later without ever having bought another syringe.
So, to answer the question, you're probably looking at bacteria-inhibited mycelial growth. If you can fetch a colonized grain out of the jar and put it on agar you'll have a clean culture very quickly and easily. Definitely worth the learning curve.

If it smells like feet then you're smelling bacteria. Got any pics?

Thanks for the response, Inocuole. These pictures are of 3 separate jars where I've noticed slight growth. The 4th pic is of one of the Cambodian jars, which is obviously doing wonderfully, from what I can tell...
I will definitely read/research the link you shared. Thank you.

Ohh this is BRF. Well, it could pull through then, potentially.

I think you are being impatient. Sometimes it can take quite a while for to see signs of growth in a jar. Don't know about the funky smell coming from your syringe but it cannot be good. Good luck with everything.

That funky smell sounds all bad but the growth in the first 3 pics you say came from that syringe looks good. I'm guessing it started right from the point(s) you inoculated at and so far it looks good. But it can always turn out to be something else or get a contaminate else where due to time. Either way. Good luck and I hope it works out!

All my pictures are drawn from imagination. I don't even know what a mushroom is.
