SGFC or Bulk Tek

Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster...great site, btw!
My first grow (PF Tek) is going well. I'm close to ready to spawn and I'm torn between a SGFC and spawning to bulk (from this bulk tek: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/10981397) I'm interested in simplicity, lowest maintenance, yield (in that order)
Which would you guys recommend for a first timer and why?
Many thanks!

I would recommend the shotgun fruiting chamber for the first time just so you get a feel for what happens, and I would get more cakes colonizing or maybe grains if you can manage it.
But a monotub really isn't any more difficult in my opinion youll get a better yield with a mono IMO.

Thank you, sir.
Concerning getting more cakes/grains...
Do you mean move to grains as my first deviation from basic/novice level tek? (Before, say, a mono tub or LC or some other stuff...)

If you really want to take baby steps after the pf tek you can try spawning grains to a bulk tray and fruit that in a sgfc. It's not really any easier than a monotub but it's an option to consider getting your feet wet with spawning grains to a bulk substrate and still using the sgfc.

Interesting you should mention baby steps because thats exactly what I"m interested in! I want to move "up" after this - or perhaps after the next one. Is grain and a bulk tub the level 2 stuff?

It's really all the same, I swear. Certain techniques aren't necessarily harder than any others. It's really just a game of reading comprehension. If you don't have a PC then spawning BRF cakes to bulk could work, but if you do have a PC and you have access to grains then you'd be shorting yourself by not just jumping right in.

This sort of sums up my own personal hypothesis - most of this stuff seems well within my capabilities. Its just that I'm hesitant of being a wide-eyed, over confident rookie with a new play book...I dont know what I dont know...ya know? I certainly appreciate your input.

Also, guys, is yield the primary/only advantage of a bulk/mono over a SGFC?
Or are there additional benefits?

Less maintenance. I'd think yield would be a pretty motivating factor though.

It certainly is and its probably enough of a benefit by itself. Especially considering you think its LESS hands on...which is what initially drew me to the SGFC.

SGFC and cakes is/are the most high-maintenance method of growing, short of trying to grow in open air. It's designed that way to get you to understand the life cycle.
