Completely Tomentose Agar? 1

Hey all,
After several failed attempts at LCs, I figured I'd try agar for a more defined "right or wrong". In other words, I wanted to be able to see if things were going the way they were supposed to. I used tissue samples from the inner stem from a fresh fruit to start the agar plates.
I'm attaching pictures for opinions, but I don't think that I have any rhizomorphic mycelium growing in any of my dishes. Instead, it looks completely tomentose. I was expecting to see some of both, but I guess that using tissue from a single fruit would cause all plates to act the same?
So the next question is what can I do with these? If I don't have any rhizomorphic mycelium, I can't isolate anything out. Can I spawn to PF or WBS? Is it worth doing with tomentose mycelium, or would it be more efficient to try again?
I don't know. I'm just confused. Below are four different dishes. Three are directly from tissue, and one is from isolating what I thought was rhizomorphic mycelium from a dish that was contaminated.
As always, input is appreciated.

There's nothing wrong with tomentose mycelium, and rhyzo isn't necessarily better. It could be because the agar recipe you are using, or just genetics. If you took that do a different recipe or to grain it may very well be rhyzo.
Clones are still composed of a pool of genetics and while made up of many less than MS, are far from a monoculture. Your plate could require a few transfers before getting rhyzo, and a lot to get an isolate.
I would definitely at least transfer once more before taking to grain, but if you are wanting rhyzo and to play with isolation I would take some transfers from the leading edge of the healthiest growth to new plates. Thin out the genetics and see what's going on a bit better.

i think those look beautiful. you dont NEED it to be rhizo, but from what i understand, continuing to transfer could result in you isolating genetics with rhizomorphic growth.
good luck buddy (:

Yeah, I'm not too worried about it. Frankly, my sterile procedure is severely limited by the fact that I'm operating with extremely limited space. Makes things like gloveboxes very difficult. I'll keep an eye on it and be sure to keep it out of future transfers.
Thanks!
